We did say it would be three years until we did Disney again but SURPRISE SURPRISE after much discussion we're biting the bullet(again) and going late August 2014 :cool1: but trying to do a rough price up is difficult as i have no idea what to expect flight price wise:confused So my questions are
1) What is a approximate price i should expect to pay for 4 adults travelling direct from Manchester to Orlando and
2) IF Disney do offer free dining do you think it would be running 16th-17th August onwards?
TIA x

Here we go again:hyper:

We are going August16th this year, we have paid just under £840 each MAN -MCO direct with Virgin. We booked accommodation separate with Disney and have got free ddp, 14 day tickets for price of 7 and $200 gift card. Hope that helps :)

I have paid £4,400 (vomits....) for 3 adults and one teen this August, same flights. I did not book early enough though. We leave on the 9th and got the free dining this year but only QS as again, we booked too late. We weren't going this year you see. Then I changed my mind. Have paid in £a for that :(

May I ask when you booked?
We go on the 9th,and couldn't find anything under £900,and were over £1000,last time we looked:confused3
So,we booked with Thomas cook, just under £800-booked in September.
:cool1:

I booked my flights in november for the 30th july to the 14th august with united ( gat -new york -orlando ) for. £420 each first time indirect but for that price I was more then happy to do it .

We booked the Disney part in July and then when flights were released we thought we were going to cancel the holiday because flight prices were over £1000 each. I kept checking everyday and mid January I found the Virgin flights and booked straight away, we are having to stay for 13 nights but an extra night bumped prices up to £1300 each! 180 days till we go :)

yay we're going then too.

Although got to say its looking very doubtful that free dining is being offered.
It by some miracle they do offer it, it may be quick service only.
my fingers are still crossed though pixiedust:

I know they were only offering QSDP recently for this year, but i was hoping DDP would be offered for a while at first for 2014 :confused3

Im hoping the same but the newest Virgin preview brochure that came out this week, has no dining offers

We travelled from LON - MCO in late July - early Aug last year and our flights were £580 each, but I don't know about Manchester. We've also travelled from Birmingham connecting in Paris for £500 at that time of year.

There is a good chance that free dining will be offered, but it's never a guarantee. You can't base it on what Virgin are offering now because they won't offer incentives when they have no competition. It's a simple matter of market forces...why offer a sweetener when you don't have to because people have no choice??? At this point only Virgin have released their 2014 holidays, therefore, there is no competition for them until April when the other operators open their holidays. Once that happens, my guess would be Disney will offer their usual deals and incentives and Virgin and others will follow.

Wait until all operators have released their holidays and compare what's on offer. August will be a higher flight cost than other times of year (all school holidays are and summer they charge more because they claim that planes get poorer fuel economy in summer). :confused3

We're going from the 9th - 30th Aug and we paid £4109 for 3 adults and 1 teen flying MAN -MCO with Virgin. Our dates were set so we couldn't be flexible, otherwise we probably could have booked cheaper flights! We also didn't want to fly indirect as we'll have a 3 month old with us.

We are 3 adults going this summer from August 3rd - 18th ours is £2,197 each,
we are flying from Gatwick, to Orlando international with virgin both ways
Staying at AOA resort,
Hiring a car
14 day Disney ultimate tickets & the flex ticket
All doing the swim at discovery cove got a 14 day Busch ticket included

Very expensive but worth every penny :-)

Love the Dolphin swim:goodvibes
Is the £2,197 pp inclusive of everything below, is that a package or did you do it DIY? :)

Awesome. Lots of sunscreen and drink plenty of water. We love discovery cove. Its a "tropical island" in the middle of a city. You also get to use aquatica (sw water park) too. Enjoy your trip.

I booked it through kenwood travel and yep the 2,197 pp includes everything :-) and considering 3 years ago we paid £1,750 without the dolphin swim I was very pleased with the price :-) we could have got it 200-300 cheaper had we stayed at pop century and booked the holiday with ocean Florida who I must say were extremely helpful but we wanted to stay at AOA and they couldn't offer us the same price or better then kenwood travel which is why we ultimately chose to go with them!

I must add I just basically had a list of everything we wanted to do! I went into travel agents and looked online to get all different prices, I then called around throwing the cheapest quote at all of them, and obviously they all want to beat one another! So I got the price down just by calling around and saying this is the quotes I have got can you give me a better price! Needless to say I got a better price over the phone :-)
