Advice needed: FP+ and split stay (resort & non-resort)

I keep seeing/hearing conflicting information from CMs, MDE and my TA so it seems best to bring my question to all you good folks as y'all have the real answers.

We're staying on-site for 8 nights/9 days in July and have a 7-day base ticket. We ended up deciding late in the game to go to FL a few days earlier and decided to stay offsite for those days. My TA and reports on disboards all say that we'll be able to use our tickets 3 days before check-in by going to Guest Relations at the parks. CMs say you can't. Can anyone confirm that this is still possible?

Also, would I be able to book FP+ for those days while we are off-site? I know it's supposed to allow bookins 30 days out for off-site guests. Today would be my 30 day window but it's not letting me book anything. It says we've reached out FP+ limit (but we've only booked 5 out of 7 days so far). I also get the message that our park tickets aren't valid for some of the days.

Has anyone done what we're doing? Were you able to book FP+ in advance? I know this is a little complicated but any help or advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

2. They are REQUIRED to say that. It is not true.

3. You will be able to book FP+ for NON (pre)-WDW Resort days starting up to 30 days before the actual date.
