Hello people in the know, I am nearly at the time when I can star booking my ADR's and as this is my first trip I thought I better get advice and check if what I have chosen is going to work for us.

Family
Me, Hubby, Cullen 2.5, Seth 10 Months, Grandma and Pa.

Staying offsite so I have chosen a few "musts" upon reading up everything.

Because we are travelling with 2 small children we plan to tour from opening to around 2.30/3.00 and end our day there, well me and hubby might sneak off and leave the rest passed out back at the condo.

Day 1
MK - Lunch CS: Dinner Chef Mickeys

Day 2 - Typhoon Lagoon/Downtown Disney: Lunch Earl of Sandwich - Then we will leave Seth with Grandma and Pa and take Cullen to MNSSHP dinner before going at Ohana's

Day 3 - Nothing planned will decide on the day what we feel like doing probably just hang out at the pool and recover from our late night.

Day 4 - Epcot, only going to do Future World will leave World Showcase for another trip, lunch Coral Reef. The boys will love atmosphere.

Day 5 - Animal Kingdom - No idea what to do here food wise any suggestions? I think Cullen and Seth would really like rainforest cafe, we have eaten in the one at Disneyland. But not sure.

Day 6 - DHS - Probably just CS maybe pizza planet for the theming early lunch, leave and head over in the afternoon to Beaches and Cream for dessert mid afternoon. Doug and I want to try California Grill tonight for a nice romantic evening meal away from kids.

Day 7 - Breakfast Crystal Palace and then spend the morning at MK before heading away around lunch time for the second half of our trip elsewhere in Florida.

So how do our choices and plans sound?

Thanks in advance
Kirsten

I think your plans sound great for a first visit. If you don't want a sit down meal at Animal Kingdom, we really like Flame Tree Barbecue and we go there every trip. We are doing it our second day at the AK this year because we are trying Yak & Yeti for a sit down meal. Personally, I would avoid Pizza Planet--to me the pizza is as bad if not worse than Domino's or Chucky Cheese pizza...but then we have great pizza places in Chicago and nothing has ever lived up to it. But with the little ones, that might be a good choice for you. Have a magical first trip. pixiedust:

Flame Tree BBQ @ AK :thumbsup2
Pizza Planet @ HS, the food is kinda yuck, so you could just let the kiddos go in and emty their pockets on the games, then eat somewhere different.

In Hollywood Studios, if you want a TS, Sci-Fi is cool atmosphere, good burgers and shakes too.

I personnally liked Mama Melrose also.

Have a wonderful time!:wizard:

Hi. It looks like you've put a lot of thought into your plans and I'm sure you'll have fun. My only critique (based only on the way our family works) is that it would be best for us to NOT have a character meal on our first night. Especially one as special as Chef Mickey. I would just be worried that the kids would be either too tired to appreciate it or too excited their first day in the park to want to take time to leave for dinner. We scheduled a 5:00 Liberty Tree dinner for our first night because it's in the park, still Disney "special" and early enough that if we want to go to the resort to rest we've still had a full day. You know your family best and I'm sure you'll pick the best plan for you. Have fun!

Ok thanks heaps, Pizza Planet is off. What I might do instead is to pack the kids wee snacks to get them through until 2.30 and we will just eat at Beaches and Cream. I might even let them have ice-cream for lunch that day. Hey we are on holiday after all.

Thanks for the thoughts, we actually arrive in Orlando the day before so we should be well rested before heading to MK the next day. Well fingers crossed anyway ;) Kids do surprise you. We will have left the park earlier in the day most likely to recharge at the condo and will just finish off the day with Mickey mouse. I hope it will all work out fine.
