Advice from Escape Brides please

I booked Randy for my 12/20/2010 wedding. He already had 8 weddings booked for that time and that's what made me want to book him even though I can't confirm my date until Jan/Feb. He assured me he would refund me if he could not accomodate my date if it changed.

The package was $450 plus I added an extra hour for $200 so in total $650 plus tax. My entire package came out to $753.75 (that was with a 5% discount he ofered.). I put a third down as my deposit.

I'll help you with Patricia - that's a 100 dollar deposit. We sent a deposit to her before we had our date, because I really liked her style. She indicated that she was flexible with dates because she was familiar with the DFTW process. Of course I was more attached to my date than location, so I felt confident booking all my vendors early because I knew somewhere at WDW I would be getting married on 10/12/09! :rotfl:

You pay 50% of the fee to Randy :thumbsup2

Disney says to expect a 10-15-minute ceremony followed by a 30-minute cake reception, with the whole thing clocking in at about an hour start to finish. :thumbsup2

Carrie got it right in the post above. It's about an hour. Be sure to leave some time afterwords though for just you and the groom to take pictures before you have to go to dinner though! :thumbsup2

For Hair and Make Up i've booked Beaute Speciale - http://www.beautespeciale.com/ - and didn't have to pay a deposit.

Thank you all so much for your help!!
PrincessShea - how much time would you recommend for photos between the end of the champagne/cake reception and a dinner?
Hugs to you all
Joanne

I think an hour should be plenty. I had two hours though and the time flew by. It really depends on how many pictures you want to take, how much transportation will eat into your time, and how long you have to kill until the dinner/reception.

Hi Joanne,

Sorry I've not been back to answer your questions before but it seems like you have had lots of help!

We originally paid approx $600 plus tax for a four hour package with Randy, but then we have added another two hours on top because I would like to have getting ready photos, and to not feel rushed with the photographs.

I can't remember what the extra cost is (although looking at other post, I think $200 per hour is about right) but I know he works out far better value than most photographers here in the UK! He's also really funny in his emails and I can't wait to meet him in person.

We had Misty Miotto and we had about an hour and 15 minutes between cake cutting and catching the limo back for our dinner and we hauled **** on the BW and got a ton of amazing shots and it was enough time. We made it all the way around and then had to leave.

Wow!! The DIS edits the British word butt! I did not know that!

Hi Jen
It is all creeping closer for you now isn't it!!!
I noticed from your TR that you managed to book your Escape package at a year out. I thought that you had to wait for the eight month mark!!! This is excellent news as I like to be organized!!!
I had an e-mail from Randy and will send him a deposit as soon as I can finalize everything with family (ie ensure they can make dates etc).
I see you have booked Patricia Lejeune for hair/makeup. I want to book her too. If I remember you are now having a 2.30pm ceremony (which I want!!). What time did you book her to come to your room to make you beautiful? I am sure I will need a long time to make me beautiful!!! I am hoping for my whole party will have breakfast at O'Hana's on the morning, and need to think about timings etc. Also how much deposit did Patricia require on booking?
I am looking forward to the next update on your PJ and I guess I should start my own really!!! Thanks for all your help.
Much love sweetie
Joanne

You will have to wait till the 8 month mark I'm sorry to say, they recently changed it.

Oh that's a real bummer!!! :sad2: It gives the 'Wishes' brides a real advantage, but I guess they are paying more money so fair enough

I had a 2:30 ceremony and Patricia was at my room at 10:30. I had hair/makeup for 3 people though, so it will probably be later if it's just you.

She requires a $100 deposit.

I think 10.30 sounds similar for Patricia arriving with us - I am going to phone her when we first get to Florida to confirm everything, but she's doing hair and make up for me, hair for my SIL, and hair and make-up for my mum.

Hiya I am a UK bride we are having a wediing at the wedding pavilion. I don't know where we are having dinner as they recently changed the group policy at Narcoossees where we planned and then we are going to watch Cirque du soleil.

Some advice. make sure you are totally aware of the time difference for booking. We worked ours out a few days before but unfortunately daylight savings time changed it in those few days and we started phoning only to be told someone had booked our time slot just 40 minutes before - we were confused and angry we did not think they were open at that time only to be told about DST If we had worked it out right we would have got it.

Don't start planning everythink to the letter too early we have been planning for 3 years we wanted to give everyone lots of time to save up so that as many pp as possible could come with us. We planned our timings and did not get the wedding time so that mucked things up and we planned our wedding dinner at Narcoossees and we are now just over 1 month away from booking our dinner and have been told that they have recently reduced their group booking policy from 32pp to 12pp.

Our budget - There are going to be 16 of us in total. We have booked Randy for photography and Apex media for videography. We have 2 bridesmaids, 1 flower girl, 1 page boy, 1 best man. We intend staying for 3 weeks, 1 at Disney and 2 at a villa. We have booked the magic Kindom photo session and a few extras and our total spend including flights (just ours) wedding, accomodation etc... will be about £14,000. I can easily send you our budget if you let me know your PM. I can also let you see the planning page sent to me by our wedding planner if this will help you make some desicions.

Yes, I would love to have these things. Would you be kind enought to PM them to me!! Thanks for the advice. When do these daylight saving hours happen? I guess it is a bit like our 'clocks going back/forward!! I suppose you meant it affected you when you came to book your dinner. It's a shame you can't have it where you really wanted it.
Hugs
Joanne

I am planning to book Narcoossees for my wedding dinner but there will be 14 of us (10 adults and 4 children ) so does that mean I wont be able to pre book there ?

I am afraid it might it may be different since you have 4 four children in your group so you should call to see but there limit now is definately 12. Our WP says there will be no exceptions but I still intend calling to try there will be 14 adults and 2 children in our group. You need to call Narcoossees direct to make a group booking there the number is 407-824-1400

Scrap that. I just called Narcoossees and got a real person not an answering machine she said that although she could not take the booking right away (we have to wait till 100 days out) she will allow us to book for the 16 of us as David and I are staying at the GF. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

A bit like you I am starting to get stressed about having to change plans again !! We were planning on doing one of those pontoon boats for after dinner for a suprise for our family but aparently we could be 2 people over on that and now I could be 2 people over on dining at the one restaurant that I really wanted too !! I feel angry in the fact that the last 2 people on my wedding party list were not really my idea (they are the grooms, sisters boyfriends 2 children - so no relation) but being as the grooms sister 2 children are coming I was told by my MIL to be that I should invite them and so now I am having to change my 2nd lot of arrangements because of this. ( i am sorry i am angry on here but cant talk to the DF about this so need to vent my anger somewhere )
