We are staying at AKL for our Disney trip. We have taken a Disney cruise and she was aloowed to stay in the kid's club's for hours without anyone there. Infact, the counsellors thought she was the easiest kid they'd ever had in the club.
She is non-verbal, non-mobile but very cognitive and always smiling. She has no medical problems to worry about either... ie seizures! They gave me a beeper if they needed me but I went by to change her a few times a day but otherwise, I never was called aND WENT AND TOOK HER FOR MEALS.
She is however unable to use the toilet. She is in diapers but is on a schedule.
My fiance and I would like some time out together... just a couple of hours on maybe 2 nights... even if it is to the resort lounge!
Do you think I will be able to leave her?

The kid's clubs do have a policy that children need to be 4 yo and potty trained. However, there is always the possibility that they will make an exception. My advice would be to contact the AKL kid's club, explain the situation and see what they say. Here's the info:

Animal Kingdom Lodge
Simba's Cubhouse
(407) 938-4785

The other option would be to use in-room care.

I hope you're able to get some time together and that all of you have a great vacation.:)

According to the American with Disabilities Act, places like day cares need to make accomidation for people with disabilities. We have never used the kids clubs at WDW, but my DD who is disabled was in day care when she was younger.
Even though their rule is that children must be toilet trained, by law, they need to figure out a way to accomidate your child if she is not able to be toilet trained because of her disability. What you did during the cruise sounds like a very reasonable way to accomidate your child's needs.
I have seen posts from people who basically did the same thing and had no problem with the Kid's Clubs.
Contact them like CEDmom suggested. let them know about your child's disabilities and how it was handled on the cruise. I'm sure they have probably dealt with similar situations before.
If it was me, I would probably prefer to leave a non-verbal child in a group situation. For one thing, I think it would be more interesting for her since she could watch the other children.
