Here's our situation: We are heading to WDW in October with 13 (possibly 14) people in our group. My husband and 2 sons, along with grandparents and brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews from my side and my husband's side. We are really looking forward to spending time with everyone, but there is one day that my husband and I will be alone. :thumbsup2 We picked one day where everyone is basically on their own. My Mom was more than willing to spend the day with my boys. We will all be meeting up for dinner at 7:00pm at T-Rex, but up to that time, I am trying to figure out what my husband and I can do together. We have an extra park ticket and I was thinking about booking a tour. All the times we have been to Disney World we have never taken one. Can anyone suggest a tour that we can take or anything else we can do? I would like to stay away from the 4-5 hour long tours and stick to something around 2-3 or less. Any suggestions would help.

Yay! How about the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at MK? This a 4-5 hour tour but provides lunch and depending on when you start it, ends by early afternoon. This tour is designed for adults (those over 16) as it can spoil the magic for littles. You will see the utilidoors and other back stage things as well as details on stage about "the show" which are very interesting and probably things that you see every time but may not truly notice or understand the significance! I highly recommend this one and would do it again in a heartbeat!

My other ideas are tours that are no longer ... like the Epcot Segway tour. SAD! I wonder if there is still a Wilderness Campground Segway tour? Anyone?

I just did the Marceline to Magic Kingdom tour last month and really enjoyed it. It was somewhere between 2 1/2 - 3 hours long and is fairly inexpensive at $32 per person. We walked all through the Magic Kingdom, did 3 rides and even got to go behind the scenes at Haunted Mansion! That in and of itself was worth the tour. I can't guarantee that the HM experience is on every tour, but I have read other reviews of it and they all mentioned doing the same thing.

Personally, I love animals. I would do the Wild Africa Trek OR lunch with a keeper at AKL. John and Kevin did a great review of that experience a month or two ago on the Dis. It sounded amazing and it wasn't expensive, like $35 pp. Another option is just a kid free day at EPCOT. I'd love to eat around the world and just enjoy the freedom.

Have fun!!

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I will have to go back and look into the Lunch with a Keeper that John and Kevin reviewed. That sounds great.

My husband and I just did a long weekend without the kids at Flower and Garden. So nice just to relax and wander around without a plan or any need to be anywhere and just enjoy each others company!
