Hi everyone,

We made it to WDW today! Yippee!!! We got to our hotel and ate and went to MVMCP, but little DD4 really wasn't feeling well, so an hour into the party we left. But we got to see the Castle lighting ceremony, (it looks beautiful), we rode a few rides and the girls saw Beaty AND the Beast. Little Jessie was so nervous by him, she told Belle that she would only stand by Belle and Beast had to stand behind Belle. Then Beast gave her a little hug and she was visibly SHAKING! She was brave, but we VERY nervous! It was sooooo cute. All the people in line were going "awwwwww".

We are at Saratoga Springs (first time staying here) and happy to be tucked up into our room and chilling out for the night. Considering we were only at MK for less than 2 hours, we had a great time. The only part I am disappointed about is that we didn't get to see it "snow" on Main St. We got there a little early before the party started and when we left, they must have turned it off for the impending parade. Also, bummer, I just realized we didn't get to see the special party fireworks. Oh well.

I just thought I would check in and say hello!

It appears that Erin got some more "love" from the press. (She was quoted in a recent article carried by Tribune Media Services.)

Just curious: I recognize the writer as the same travel columnist (Eileen Ogintz), who wrote that initial Moms Panel article posted on CNN.com waaay back in January. Did she just pull a quote out of her "back pocket" from an interview that occurred nearly a year ago? Or, did you talk to her again more recently? (You now me: Inquiring minds want to know. )

I was interviewed by Eileen again about a month ago. The article you've posted first ran on cnn.com travel last week. She also got some quotes for another article that's supposed to runs in Parents magazine. As always, you're never sure what will actually run or what quotes will end up being printed, but let me know if y'all see anything.

I've been completely wiped out for the past two weeks. A bad cold that turned into severe bronchitis that turned into antibiotics that turned my stomach into mush. I'm just starting to come out of it, but it's kept me pretty sidelined from posting lately.

I spent all day yesterday packing for WDW! We're leaving Tuesday morning for Thanksgiving. Finally taking my "reward" trip. Staying at the Grand Floridian and having dinner Thanksgiving night at the California Grill during Wishes. It certainly has been a magical year.

First of all, congratulations, and welcome to motherhood!

Regarding your question: Unfortunately (for you), the application process has ended, and the 2009 Panel already has been selected. On a positive note, the Moms Panel has been extremely successful, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if Disney again opens the application process in search of a new team of contributors next year. Incidentally, in 2007 and 2008, Disney started accepting applications (in the form of three 100-word essays) in early September.

Actually, I'm in facebook, and I read about the videos in Bret's most recent status update. (There's overlap between fb and Twitter, though...)

As for beating me to the punch, no worries!! Maybe it's time for multiple scoop-finders. ('Guess that sounds better than "scooper," huh? )

We wrote and "directed" them all on our own (and proposed the ideas). If they are in the parks, they have usually offered us the assistance of a camera person. At home, we have either used our own cameras, or a "Flip" camera that they have lent us. For the "pressed penny" and "guidebook" videos, I used a Flip camera, and for my other videos I worked with a Disney-contracted camera person.

By the way, all of the video "work" has been completely voluntary (and a lot of fun! ).

I hope people also find them useful -- I know I would have for my first vacation!

That trend may change soon! I don't want to speak for the other Moms/Dad on the 2009 Panel but my knees are already shaking. We'll be doing some of our own videos next week.

Bret - I loved the Hidden Mickey video! And this time you had all three of your kids in it!

Kim - I think your videos will need to be renamed soon to put Nic on the credits...he's a pro now! Gee, maybe you should bring him with you next week...we may need him in our videos!
