What happened here. I go away for 2 days to have a baby and the thread goes nuts!

I need a quickie update so I can catch up.

Evan Patrick was born on Thursday, September 18th at 11:47am. He was 8lbs 2ozs, and 21.25 inches long. We came home a day early and are doing great. I only pushed for about 5 minutes and out he came.

Hi agnes!

That's the million-dollar question around these parts! Already, folks have started casting bets on how many Moms Panel applications Disney received and exactly when Disney will start to contact its finalists. Care to venture a guess??

Wow! I'm digging all of the colorful tags you've accumulated! (In fact, I think I have a chronic case of tag envy... I've made 1,700+ posts -- with nary a visit from the Tag Fairy! )

No one knows for sure (OK, Leanne probably does ). I think it won't be until at least mid-October.

If you read some of the recent posts, people are placing bets. What is your guess for the date they'll announce the next round?

Interestingly, I don't even think I started to post on the DIS about the contest last year until a few weeks AFTER they announced the second-round candidates.

Like Bret, I have no inside scoop on the process, but my semi-educated guess is that it will take at least three weeks to plow through the apps, and have some meetings about the next round.

I lurked on last-year's "I applied for the Moms Panel" thread, but did not post there (or anywhere else) until after I had my phone interview. There was a very articulate candidate who posted that he had a 20 minute long phone interview. My entire phone interview was eight minutes long. I thought that meant that I had crashed and burned. So I thought my only hope was to be charming in my writing somewhere where the CMs might possibly see it. LOL. I'm guessing that none of that had any impact at all on my being selected. I'm just saying it b/c if any of you do get to the phone call round (if that's how they're doing it this year, I don't know really), you should NOT stress if your interview does not sound like it was the same as someone else's.

Congrats Jennifer!!!! I wish you many sleep filled nights!! I do remember those first few weeks and they are tough, I wish you the best.

As for our family, we have bumped our trip to WDW up again and we are now leaving.... TOMORROW @ 10:30am can you believe it. Maybe this hurricane thing is not so bad after all. Or, I lost my mind along the way. Nevertheless, I'm taking all three kids alone (first we are staying at the Poly) and Tues we are transferring to AKL where the rest of the family will meet us on Thurs. We will then spend a few days in the parks and on Sat we will participate in the EEC. Wish me luck, I'm praying that I don't loose my mind before my DH arrives. I don't know when I'll be able to check in again so I'll see some of you at the race.

Oh, so you can spot me, I'll be wearing a brown running skirt and an orange tank.

Ha, ha! You are a girl after my own heart Julie!!! Bumping trip up twice and travelling solo with the kiddos. Sounds just like me...anything to squeeze a few more days in at our happy place!

I will be on the lookout for you at EEC. So far as I know, you me and Lori (aka Scoopy) from this thread are the only ones not on the Panel who are going. (Am I missing anyone???)

I say we all try to meet up with the Panelists at either the start or end of the Race. Obviously we all know what they look like - LOL!

Can't wait to meet everyone on Saturday!!!
