Hi all! I’m back from a wonderful weekend at the World, so I thought I’d check in. So, those are some of the EE Challenge and Moms Panel-related highlights! Thanks for indulging me in my mini trip report! :flower3:

Welcome back, DISgeeks! Thanks for indulging US ;) with your great mini trip report! It sounds like you and your sister had a great time.

I hope that you and your sister are able to order your professional race pictures.

What is it like running that marathon there? My mom are considering doing the Princess 5k in March.

Well, I see some of you have beat me home....
Let's just say 9 days in the parks was great, but now I'll be doing laundry for a week.

The EEC was fantastic!! I must say that running a 5k after spending 7 days at the parks was a bit harder than I thought. My feet are NEVER going to forgive me. BTW, Dh just looked up the results and we placed 85th (out of the coed teams)

Lori, I can't believe you saw Erin at packet pick up, so did I. We must have been there at the same time but did not know it. I didn't introduce myself because she had her daughter with her and I didn't know what she would think. (gosh, what a nut.....) Instead, I saved my introduction for the race. I was heading over to my corral "Wave 7" when I saw everyone and just had to say hello. Later that evening, I saw Kim and her family outside EE (which we road 5 times with no wait!!!!!) I asked how everyone did and she said good.

I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance, the dryer has gone off so it's time for me to switch the loads.
Julie

Welcome back, Julie! I hope your feet have forgiven you by now!

Congratulations on your team finish! I can't wait to see your pictures, too!

BTW, I can't wait to hear what the secret is. I wonder how long we will have to wait.

Welcome back to anyone else who is just returning from the EEC. I hope you had a great time!

Me, too! I am actually training for the 1/2 marathon, but may only be able to do the 5K. I'll just have to see how the training goes:confused3 Anyone else out there thinking of doing it? We could all keep each other motivated:grouphug:

Have a magical evening

I had to look up to see how long a half marathon was  I told me mom and we were both in agreement that a 5k was much more doable for us. I am excited. It is her bday present (I am paying and hopefully will be able to get us a studio at SSR for the night before). I will look forward to hopefully getting to meet some DISers for the first time.

PS. I work online for a company that does Race IDing for professional race photos. I don't know if the EE race was done by this company but I will keep an eye out for them and see if I see anyone from this thread that I recognize from the pics you posted. Right now I am working on a Berlin race...so not yet though.

Good news (for me anyway ;) )!

I was able to retrieve my race pictures. (Side note for np4gp: Action Sports International is handling the Expedition Everest Challenge photos.)

Also, I learned that there was "a magnetic interference" with some of the ChampionChips during the race, which is why I couldn't find my results on the web site. (Apparently my chip was affected.) The folks at Disney's Wide World of Sports were very quick to respond to my e-mail inquiry. :thumbsup2

Hi!!
It was so nice of you to stop and say hello while we were waiting in the race corral.

After chatting with you and your sister, Kara came over to grab me as the Moms were all running together in Wave 11, although we ended up in Wave 10. Okay, who said counting was part of the application process! :rotfl:

I do KNOW the secret but I did not share the secret. The secret was announced at the MNSSHP gathering that we enjoyed on the Train Station platform. It is fabulous news and a dream come true for one lovely Mom! In fact, she shared this dream with me during our December training and so...I got chills hearing the news. Happy tears!! And...now...that's all I'm saying. Although ya all know that I like to write and write...it's a disease, I tell ya.

It's about time to get ready to get Nic from school. But I'll write more later about the weekend in WDW. Thank you to the DISers that made us feel oh so special for a few moments! :grouphug:

Hi DISgeeks, I am glad to hear about your happy ending with your pictures!:wizard:

Well, whatever this secret really is, maybe it is best if it just remains a secret. We can respect that, can't we DISers?

So, since congratulations are in order.... Congratulations to [fill in the blank] for the [wonderful thing that has happened]!!! :rotfl: :goodvibes ;)

Hi Guys!!! Loved all the EEC updates!!!

I am just getting back now. We flew home Sunday, landing in the wake of a hurricane! Yes, very true! Then I immediately drove to a work event 3 hours from home. Still haven't unpacked, but I am hoping to download photos tonite.

Unfortunately, can you believe that I did not meet even one Mom or anyone here on the thread!!!

However, I did meet Bret!!! I had been standing in the line up to check bags in the parking lot for about 10 mins. Just as I was 2 people from the front of the line I turn around and low and behold - there is Bret!!

Of course I only had 2 mins to speak to him before we were at the front of the line. I thought about asking for a quick pic, but they were waiting to take our bags and we were only about 15 mins away from the start of the race. I had other friends to track down and I knew he would want to be with the other Moms and family members.

I did ask Bret to take me over to the group so that I could briefly say hello to the other Moms (and also see if Lori and the other thread members were there). We started walking over when I was stopped by one of my closest friends who we were meeting that nite and who I hadn't seen in months. Of course I had to stop to chat and make plans to meet up. Bret was nice enough to circle back and tell me that the Moms group was about to move to another area and I told him I would meet up with them at the end of the race.

What a mistake!!!

Unlike the Minnie 5k which I did in May, this event was much more chaotic at the end. People were everywhere and going everywhere. And because there were 12 heats/waves, people were finishing at all separate times.

While very disappointed that I did not get to meet any of the Moms or participants from this thread, I am so grateful that I at least got a chance to at least meet Bret.:goodvibes

I will try to post some pics of the race once I get my photos downloaded and remind myself exactly how to post pics again. (I haven't done that in quite awhile - LOL!)

Kim, it was nice talking to you also. Thanks, we did have a good time. In fact, we closed the park ( only about two dozen people left) talk about no wait:cool1:

For those of you who want to see the race photos here is the link http://www.asiorders.com. Click on EEC and enter the bib number of the team you want to see. Our bib number was 1270. (No laughing.......) As soon as things slow down I'll download the pre-race photos off the camera.

Trish, hope the hurricane was nice to you. We came home after 9 days and the traffic signals are still down. It really makes you just want to sit at home:confused3 Our trip to school usually takes 6min it now takes about 20 with all the stop and go signals:scared1:
