I apparently have a B12 deficiency.Why not?
I had been feeling kinda ick, and ALWAYS exhausted (I mean, I could sleep a full night, get up, and go back to bed an hour later and sleep 2-3 hours, and still not feel rested). Anyway, I went to the Dr. and told her that I just *know* something is off with my body. I had her do a complete blood workup and they figured out that I have a B12 deficiency- my levels are half what they should be.
So, I have been researching this and I'm wondering how long my body has been trying to tell me this.![]()
Anyway, I have to give myself shots- once a week for a month, and then once a month for an indefinite amount of time. Apparently my body isn't absorbing it from my diet.
Such an odd thing though- I never would have guessed a vitamin deficiency!
My husband takes B12 since the lack of it can cause an eye problem that he's had/has. My two middle kids also take it and my 14yo says it causes vivid dreams.
I think it can also contribute to depression, but I could be wrong on that. It's never been suggested that my husband do shots, though. He takes a supplement.
Why not?
