We want to take some of the ABD trips (just the 2 of us). I know there are adult-only offerings for some of their adventures, but quite often the few dates available don't work.

We love kids, but our are well grown so just the two of us would go. We like the ABD style, access, and tour guides, just wondering how an adult couple would fit with the family program.

Adult couples on the family trips are a common occurrence. I don't think you would feel out of place at all.

I agree with Bobo912, I think you'd fit in just fine. In the one family trip I've taken, it was quite a mix of families, couples and single people. It's really a matter of if you'd mind traveling with kids or not.

I also agree with Bobo also. On all our trips there have been older adult couples ( a couple were DVC members ) who fit in quite well with the group. We even got a Christmas card from one couple we met on our Southwest Splendors trip. You'll fit right in. :)

We are an adult couple with no kids. Our first ABD was Scotland and the adult only dates didn't work for us so we just picked the date that did work for us. We never felt out of place. Actually, come to think of it there were several other adult only traveling companions on our trip besides us. I think everyone had a great time. I know we did. We wouldn't hesitate to book a trip that was not adults only in the future if the adult only dates don't work.

We are a family of 3 - daughter is 20. First ABD was only her and two siblings. Last year quite a few more younger children, with adult couples also. It makes for a nice mix - seeing things through all different ages, but time to split off if need be.

We have made such great friends - two ladies traveling together frequently take a ride from VA to NJ to visit with us! We keep in touch with many by Facebook, and tonight, we are meeting a favorite couple in NYC for a Broadway show!

Great trips - great opportunities!

I always travel solo and have always taken the regular ABD trips because the adult only one's happen when I can't travel. I have never had any problems and as OP have said, you will find a mix of parents with kids, parents without kids, couples, etc. on the trips.

What I have found on my trips is that the adults tend to hang out together and the children hang out together. I know when I did the Greece and ABD Med Cruise add-on trips, the kids were always in the back of the bus or running ahead while the adults were in the front talking. I never had a problem finding someone to do things with or to eat with if I wanted to. It was actually kind of nice to have other people looking out for me just as they would their own family. I think you'll do fine.

On one of my trips, someone asked the ABD guide what the difference was between the adult only and regular trips. He responded that the regular trips are usually looser because the kids make it fun. I hope that makes sense. I interpreted it to mean that the adult only trips may be more serious(because adults are usually serious) while the family one's are less so because you see the trip through the kid's eyes. I've definitely never left an ABD family trip saying that I wished I had done the adult only one.
