Seven years ago I gave my son and daughter-in-law tickets to the Magic Kingdom as a Baby Shower Gift. I asked if the tickets would expire in the future and was told they never would expire. Now, they are coming to use the tickets and were told the tickets are expired and they will have to pay a fee to renew them. I don't think Disney World would reneg on their original promise. Would they? :sad2:

In the past, the tickets were always good for the parks that were open at the time the tickets were purchased. Perhaps the extra fee is because Animal Kingdom wasn't open then? I can't remember when it opened. I would suggest calling Guest Services and explaining the situation. It has been my experience that they can be very accomodating in these situations.

Good luck, it was a very sweet gift!

We were told one time that they never expire. Never should mean never.

Disney's policy is that a day's park admission purchased in year XXXX is worth a day's park admission today. They probably can't turn those tickets in as part of a ticket upgrade, but they should be able to use those tickets to enter the parks. If you bought five day tickets, they're good for five days. If you're planning on staying seven days, you can't look at todays prices and simply pay the difference between today's five day pass and a current seven day pass however.
