I have heard that all Disney eateries allow adults to order children's portions? Can anyone confirm this?

I am going in 2 days with a picky adult eater and I know she'll want stuff from the kid's menus.

They will allow it but truthfully the kids meals are not great. They are unimaginative and unappetizing IMHO. My DD is 7 and didn't want them most of the time. Your adult friend might be happier ordering off the regular menu and requesting a more plain version of something. Sauce on the side is an easy thing for most restaurants to do and I find with most restaurants special requests are alowed. I am prretty picky too!

I agree with Lisa. Yes, you can order from the kids menus but why?

Here's what we do since we know what we want to eat and very seldom get anything that we don't want. These are just examples but you can apply them to any meal.

Appetizers can be ordered as a meal. I've eaten lots of mussels "appetizers" as my meal and added a salad to the side.

You can ask for ANYTHING that is listed on the menu. See a chicken breast you like but the side is something you would never eat in your entire life? But this steak dish over here has smashed potatoes and you love them? Order the chicken and the smashed potatoes.

The chicken breast is covered in some sauce you've never heard of and sounds gross? Order it "naked". Any restaurant that has any kind of boneless chicken breast on it can grill it up on its own.

All Disney restaurants have fries available. Some even have rice as well. Just ask.

See a salad you would like but it has blue cheese crumbs in it? Ask for it without. My husband gets his salads without most of the things offered. Give him lettuce, cheese and croutons and he's fine.

And I'll close with two stories. At 50s Prime Time, we were eating with a vegetarian. She didn't really like the vegetarian offering so asked for a turkey sandwich without the turkey. After being told of the vegetarian thing, the server rattled off four meals that were available if my friend wanted any of them. She had a better lunch than we did!

My mother-in-law hates cilantro. Just hates it. On the Disney cruise all of her meals were prepared without cilantro in them.

Not all restaurants will let an adult order from a TS childs menu....
The Plaza would not let me order a childs chef salad....
At Artist Point I was able to order 1/2 portion of salmon.....
You will get different answers at different restaurants.
Since I am also a light eater, we ofter share a meal at TS restaurants.

Thanks for the advice. I am an insanely picky eater. I'll only eat chicken or turkey. I hate weird sauces and stuff on my salad. I'm content with chicken and mashed potatoes every night, but FI loves to try new things. Now I won't feel odd asking for "plain" things every night.
