Sorry if this has been talked about to death. I'm new to the community and this is my first post. I tried to do a search on this topic but got a message that the search feature was disabled.
We're visiting WDW October 7-14 and its our first time staying on property (ASMo) with no car so we're basically relying on Disney food exclusively during our stay.
I had the RNY gastric bypass surgery in April and am wondering about ordering from the children's menu at the nicer restaurants. My stomach can hold about three ounces of food. While I'm accustomed to portions being more than I can handle, we can often work around this by ordering one adult entree and sharing it between myself and my two sons (ages 1 and 3) if we can agree on what to order. OR I can sometimes find something appropriate on the child's menu (I have to eat VERY high protein) if the restaurant will allow it.
So, I guess me question is, can an adult order from the children's menu at WDW restaurants? I really want to experience some of the nicer places (California Grill, Citricos, etc.) but the thought of paying $30 for an entree I can only eat three ounces of makes me cringe. I know Disney goes out of their way to accommodate special dietary needs (in fact my MIL who is going with us this trip has Celiac Disease and is already planning around it), which is how I consider my situation.
What do you think?
