Day 7 ~ Thursday November 30th 2006 ~ Alone Day!!
This by far was the hardest day to get up. The wake up call was for 7:15 a.m. and I just knew the clock had to be wrong when I woke up. It cant possibly be 7:15 already?!?

Ive only been asleep for a couple of hours!! (or thats what it felt like)
I dragged myself out of the bed and wished I was a boy so that it only took me 2.5 seconds to get ready

. I showered and groggily got ready.
We met my parents outside at 8:20 and headed to the bus stop to MK for our 9:10 breakfast at Crystal Palace. There were a ton of people waiting at our bus stop for MK (although we got pretty lucky because our bus stop was almost always the first one before the bus went to all of the other POR and POFQ bus stops).
We get to MK a few minutes before 9 oclock. We head straight for Crystal Palace and it was cloudy and rainy so we walked fast. We checked in and waited out on the porch.
A few minutes later it was sunny and beautiful outside and a beautiful rainbow went all the way across the sky and ended at Cinderellas Castle. It was a gorgeous sight.
Our name got called and we headed in to eat. The puffed French toast was amazing as always (although I dont know why they just have this on the kids buffet area). I stayed away from the breakfast lasagna as it always looks mushy and soggy like its been sitting there too long. I had some yummy scrambled eggs and a few other things I cant remember (standard breakfast stuff). Oh! I did have this AMAZING chicken/apple sausage that was soooo good.
After breakfast we said goodbye to my parents (which felt very strange as Ive never been doing stuff without them in WDW) and I could tell I was getting a little choked up so we left

. Colton and I discussed staying at MK to ride some more rides but it was extremely crowded so we decided against it. We headed out of the park to the POR bus stop.
We got to the bus stop at 10 a.m. and waited until 10:45 for a bus!! We were the second group in line and we had about 20 people behind us waiting too. The man in front of us had two little girls both wearing sundresses (the youngest looked about 2-3). While we were waiting for a bus, he was going on and on to us about the government and whats wrong with it, etc.

Colton and I just looked at each other like Why is this guy talking politics with us?? About 2 minutes later it smelled so bad and I looked at Colton and mouthed Did you fart?? He makes a face and says No All of a sudden I looked down at the little 2-3 year old girl and she has poop all over her. I mean ALL over her. It was so gross I thought I was going to lose my breakfast. Her dad strips her down right there and tries to clean her up. We were downwind from everything so it wasnt pleasant for anyone at the bus stop.
Finally the bus comes!!

I am relieved because now I can stop breathing in and out of my mouth. We get back to POR at about 11:15 a.m. (we got off at the main bus stop where the lobby is).
We took a long, peaceful walk around the resort and eventually made our way back to our room. Colton talked me into taking a nap until 1 p.m. and then we were going to go to the fishing hole at POR, rent a boat, go to Typhoon Lagoon for an hour or so, and then head to Downtown Disney later.
Yeah. A lot of that didnt happen.
We set the alarm for 1 p.m. Apparently
SOMEONE turned the alarm off when it went off at 1!! We didnt wake up until 2:30! So out went fishing and the boats. We changed into our bathing suits and went to the bus stop to go to Typhoon Lagoon.
We get to Typhoon Lagoon at about 3:30 p.m. They close at 5 p.m. I have never been here before as when we used to go in the summer both water parks would be closed by 10 a.m. because they were at max capacity. I have been to Blizzard Beach once but our family was never a huge water park family.
We had Typhoon Lagoon to ourselves. There was probably 5 other people there (ok, maybe 6 tops). I purchased a locker for $10 (they give you $5 when you return the key) to put our room keys, money, etc. in. On to the rides! We first went over to Crush N Gusher and had no wait (we didnt have to wait for anything at TL). The CM working told Colton he looked just like some statue that was at TL of a fisherman with a yellow raincoat on. We never found the statue and didnt know whether or not that was a compliment. Crush N Gusher was so much fun! Probably the only ride Ive ever screamed on. Its such a weird feeling going uphill in a tube.
After this we jumped in the lazy river to, well, be lazy. That was the plan anyways. I loved it but there wasnt enough action for Colton so we got off at the next exit and rode all of the tube rides. There was one (I cant remember the name of it) that youre in single tubes and you go over these little bumps as youre going down and it beats the crap out of you. That wasn't a favorite of mine or Colton's.
We then went to the wave pool. Ive been to a few wave pools but these are serious waves. These are just like ocean waves that knock you out and take you under for thirty seconds and then dump you out in the middle of some family with your hair all in your face and sand in places you dont want to mention. Those kinds of waves. We stayed here for maybe 10 minutes before getting out.
Colton wanted to do the body slides (where you lay on your back and cross your legs and arms) so we headed over in that direction. On the way we passed shark reef and I asked him if he wanted to do that. We picked up a snorkel and headed over to get our 5 minute speech on safety in the tank. We got into the FREEZING cold water and then swam slowly forward. This was so much fun! By far my favorite thing at TL. Im not scared at all of fish, sharks, or anything like that so I imagine if you are this probably isnt the best thing. My snorkel was slowly filling up with saltwater but I didnt want to stop at the rock (the only place youre allowed to stop at) so I just hoped for the best. There were so many fish! I was cracking up because I was in the back of the group and I was watching some of the other people that went with us. This girl beside me was pointing and looking at these fish way off in the corner not realizing she had about 4-5 little blue fish (like Dory from Nemo) swimming around her legs. You get used to the cold water and its just so peaceful and fascinating. I couldve done it all day. We get out and the best part about being in cold water is that everything feels warmer when you get out. We returned our snorkels (which mine didnt fill up but it was close to reaching my eyes by the time we got out) and went to the body slides.
Colton did this by himself as I dont find them to be very fun and I have lost a many of bathing suit tops on rides like this

. I think its pretty funny they have an area set up like an amphitheater at the exit of the ride (I assume for perverted men to watch girls come down the ride and lose their tops

). I waited here with the rest of the perverts

(and actually did see a woman completely lose her top and the lifeguard at the bottom had to take it to her, thats a pretty good job for a guy!). Colton came down and we looked at the map and realized we had done everything here and it was only 4:20!
We went to the lockers to get our stuff and I was starving for some popcorn. I love popcorn after Ive been swimming. The only food stand that was open was a donut stand. What?!?

Yes, thats just what I want to eat when my fat butt is in a bathing suit. Donuts. So I got a lemonade and we returned our key and headed to the bus.
I asked Colton what he wanted to do for the rest of the evening (we were meeting my parents for dinner at 9 p.m. at HDDR at Fort Wilderness). He said he really wanted to walk around the Polynesian since we didnt really get a chance to do that before. So that was our plan.
We got back to the room at about 5 p.m. and showered and changed. As we were leaving we spied through my parents room window and they were sleeping! Hey! All napping has to be done by 2:30! So we banged on their door and woke them up and told them about our day so far and to see all of the stuff my mom had spent too much money on all day at DTD. We left them to their nap and went to the boat dock at POR to go to DTD to transfer to Poly (it probably would have been quicker to take a bus to MK and then the monorail to the Poly but he really wanted to ride the boat). The boat ride was relaxing and peaceful and Colton says we should move to another country so that we can be International CMs at WDW and get to stay at the Treehouse Villas, so thats now our 5 year plan.
We get to DTD at about 6:30 p.m. I notice there arent a lot of people in Goofys candy shop and I was still starving so we both got some very yummy cookies and a drink (I got a sugar cookie Christmas tree with icing

).
We went to the bus area to wait for a bus to the Polynesian. There were a few other people waiting with us and it took about 10 minutes for the bus to get there. We then went to PI where our bus drivers changed and we got stuck with a crazy lady. We sat at the bus stop for 5-10 minutes (I guess because they were off schedule and we had to sit there to adjust the schedule) and then we were off to stop at the Contemporary first. Now I say the bus driver is crazy because she talked in Spanish LOUDLY the entire time in the microphone. I looked around at the other people thinking maybe she was talking to someone but nobody was paying her any attention. Then she starts laughing really loud and cackily for no reason. It reminded me of Funny Farm when the mail delivery person threw the mail at Chevy Chase and then laughed crazily as they sped away.
Anyways we get to the Contemporary and it is mass hysteria. There were about a hundred people waiting for the DTD bus. There was a wheelchair in the back of the group that the bus driver had to load on first but she couldnt open the door because people were pushing on them (the front and back). Ive never seen anything like it. People were yelling and cussing at each other and pushing the bus. I dont even think the bus driver (being crazy herself) knew what to do. She opened up the front door and started yelling at the people to move back as she had to load the wheelchair and one guy was yelling at her that they have been waiting over an hour. It was pretty scary but she finally got the wheelchair loaded and there were so many people on that bus we could not move.
We finally get to the Polynesian at 7:40 p.m. I was so relieved to get off of that bus! We walk through the lobby and reminisce about our first day here and how great our trip has been. We started our walk at the marina and walked around the sidewalk by the beach. He was breathing so hard and I kept asking him if he was ok. He said he was but didnt say much else.
We walk all the way to Sunset Point and its just silence. He has his arm around me and my ear is right at his chest and I can feel his heart beating like crazy and then I knew what was coming next and I got all of these butterflies in my stomach.
He starts off by saying I wanted to bring you out here because its so beautiful and I love you so much but theres another reason. He turns to face me and immediately tears start running down my cheeks. He holds both of my hands and says You have made my life so incredible and it would make me so happy
then he stops because he starts crying and cant get the words out. So he skips ahead to Will you
he then realizes hes still standing so he goes down to one knee Marry me?. I said Of course! and we cried like big babies. He said I had so much more I wanted to say! That made me laugh. It was so beautiful at night with the lights from the Contemporary, MK, and the Grand Floridian reflecting off of the lake and Cinderellas Castle straight ahead. It was a perfect spot. We couldnt relish in the moment too much as I had arranged for us to do the carriage ride at Fort Wilderness at 8:30 p.m. and we had to be there by 8:15.
It was such a beautiful moment. While we were walking to the monorail he just kept saying Were engaged! over and over. When we got in the monorail he just kept staring at the ring on my finger. It was really sweet and its strange that jewelry looks so nice under the monorail light.
We get to MK and depart the monorail. We head to the boat dock to head to Fort Wilderness. We wait maybe 5 minutes and hop on. Colton really liked this boat ride as he liked the view of the resorts from the lake and got to see a better view of the Wilderness Lodge. (We didnt get to catch the Electrical Light Parade but will definitely have to next time as I think he would really like to sit on the beach and watch it). We pull up at the WL just as the geyser was going off at 8 p.m. so that was pretty neat to watch from the boat.
We get to Fort Wilderness at 8:10 and head straight to the store to buy some alcohol for our carriage ride

. I got a margarita in a bottle and he got a Corona (I think). We get to the carriage ride area and no carriage was there so we decided to go to the Trails End Restaurant porch (where we were supposed to meet my parents at 9). They were already there! I told them the news and they were excited. We sat with them until the carriage came back and the people got off and then went over and paid our $35 and hopped in.
Im glad we went on the carriage ride but I probably wouldnt do it again. I think we wouldve liked the one at POR better. It was down a path in the middle of the woods and it was pitch black so there was nothing to look at. After about 15 minutes the driver turns around and goes back up the same path we came down. It was uneventful but relaxing. For a few minutes we were on the main road and had Disney busses behind us which we both thought was funny on a romantic carriage ride. We got back to the carriage ride area and gave the driver a tip and went back to the porch with my parents who were busy getting cocktails from the Trails End bar.
I love sitting on this porch in the rocking chairs. I could do that all night especially with the Christmas lights and decorations. It was just so nice.
There was a guy blowing massive bubbles in front of Pioneer Hall and having the kids blow them around which was pretty entertaining. At 9:30 we went inside to HDDR (the tables are preset when you call and make your ADR so you have no advantage checking in early). We got a great table that was one table away from the stage. There were so many people here!! Last year we came at the same time and there was about 10 other tables sat. The entire bottom floor was sat at this show with a lot of kids and we didnt see one kid there last year at that time.
I ordered sangria, Colton and my Dad got beer, and my mom got a soda. Last year you got slices of bread and salad on the table when you sat down. Now they serve a loaf of cornbread and salad. Both of which were good. The show was entertaining as usual (although I dont care for the new guy that plays 6 bits, not as funny as the other guy). Hardly anyone laughed in the audience. Whenever a corny joke was said you could almost hear crickets. 6 bits even said Rough crowd tonight. Maybe people were tired or just didnt care for the show. I don't care for the food here and pretty much just come back because my Dad likes the all you can eat and drink part and he likes the ribs. We've been to this show 7 times and it's been the same show ever since the first time.
After the show (about 11:15 p.m.) we loaded up on a bus to POR (I love that they have busses that take you to your resort and that you dont have to transfer to somewhere else when you go to the late show). We were all tired and had had a great day. I was so excited to be engaged (and bad Colton didnt even call his Mom until the next day which she was very upset about

) and at Disney. Before we went to sleep Colton said he wanted a Disney wedding

. And with that we snuggled up in our double bed (pretty much the only way two adults CAN sleep in a double bed

) and fell asleep.
Up next: Getting to Epcot for the Engagement Photos, going to MGM again, eating at Sci-Fi, Epcot EMHs, rude servers at Yachtsman Steakhouse, and making very bad decisions when it comes to Disney transportation.
