We are planning a "mommy and daddy only" trip for Food and Wine Fest this October. Our 180 day window for reservations is coming up and I had some questions-- I want to eat at V&A Chef's table and California Grille, but I don't want to miss the special events for dining in Epcot for F&W Fest. Should I wait for a future trip to do the resturants or try to do both? Also, the food plan was awesome for us as a family of 6, but will we get enough use out of it during F&W Fest for just the 2 of us? :confused3

:cheer2: Yea, Food & Wine :drinking1 I would go ahead and make your reservations as planned. As for the food plan, I personally would not do it, there are too many good foods to sample at the FW. As my husband says start at Mexico and eat yourself around the world showcase and end up at Canada. :dumbo: If you want to do something different, do the MNSSHP it's a blast even for us adults. :hmghost:

Make ADR's for your trip and then when the info for the special events (meals, etc) the F&W has to offer, you can always cancel your ressies elsewhere. Yes, it is fun to "eat around (don't forget drink) the world" too.
DH and I are going the beginning of May and this trip, we're winging it. Gonna go with the flow and see what happens, no ADR's. It may be a fun adventure!

If you do make reservations and need to cancel them, make sure you do that in plenty of time, both CG and V&A will charge a cancellation fee ($10 a head I think) if you don't cancel them in time. I'm not sure what the time frame for that is, perhaps someone else might know? They will probably tell you when you reserve. Make sure you get in right as the ADR reservation center opens for your V&A chef's table, as that is usually only one party per sitting, so very, very limited availability. I would still do V&A if you can't get the chef's table, it is so good!

Thanks so much! Your replies were very helpful. :thumbsup2 I will make the reservations and then decide after the F&W information is available. And yes, there will be plenty of eating and drinking around the world. :drinking1 That is why we are staying at an Epcot resort--so we can roll or stumble back to the room, whatever the case may be. :rotfl:

We did the Dining Plan during the F & W last October and it worked out great for us. We saved about $450 dollars (3 Adults) over the cost of the plan.
It sounds like it would work for you too.
What we did was plan 2 evenings of "Noshing Around the World" at the F & W, On one of those days we ate lunch at Morroco, and the other day was totally F & W eating. We used the extra TS credit we did not use for dinner to go to Yachtsman Steakhouse, a 2 TS credit restaurant.
We were able to use all of our snack credits at the F & W booth, a wonderful surprise.
I would advise you to do both!
