I didn't know you could make FP+ with your ticket before the party. I thought it was only reserved if you had park tickets. Do you have to make them when you're in the park, or can you do it before hand with the rest of them?

I just made them right when my 60 day window opened up, when I made the rest of my FP+. You can only make them from 4pm to 7pm though. There's no FP+ for the rest of the night, during the actual party. That's why we decided to go with a late lunch that day, and get there early so that we could get in at 4pm. As you use your FP+ you can see if you can move the next one up to get an earlier time. As for dinner, we sort of just had snacks and treats. Too much to do and see and we didn't want to take the time to sit down and eat. Especially because it takes me very long time to eat a full meal.

ETA: I forgot to comment on the weather. I have had tremendous luck and have had gorgeous weather for my October trips. Only a little bit of rain on two days out of all that time. I am in Pennsylvania so, it's definitely autumn and chilly, have even driven to the airport when it's been snowing up here. So it's nice to go to somewhere warm. Temps were basically between 82°-86° or so. I can think of only maybe two days where it was hotter than that. We never go back to the hotel for a mid day break or anything, but we always take a table service break and we will go see the air conditioned shows.

Overdue Update!

AHHHHH!

Things have been non-stop here. Between work, family gatherings, barbecues, and prepping for a very special conference that's in two weeks, I have not gotten a chance to sit down and update you guys in all the planning and final details!

So two very important things have happened.

One: Fastpasses! I was able to grab all the fast passes I wanted, and pretty much at the times I wanted them. SCORE!

Wednesday: This day will be split park-hopping and riding things we missed out on. No FP+ yet, but will probably grab some when we get down there. Probably not the smartest, but I really want to keep this open!!​

Two: Probably the more important update... I reached my savings goal! I'm keeping it a bit mysterious (AKA- I saved way too much for two people, but enough to cover some major Disney splurging!!) Look at this fat piggy! 100%!!

I had been using SmartyPig. It was my first time using an application like this to save. Other than the standard 2 day money transfer period, I really liked it! Making it a bit harder to transfer the money made it less tempting to use, and it also has the added perk of being .75% APY, much higher than my bank savings account. I didn't use their automatic withdrawal, but I probably will in the future, as I will definitely using this again. You can also use this program between people you authorize, or as a public goal where anyone can contribute, which I think is neat.​

In other news- I haven't really even started on our MNSSHP Costumes. I've been working diligently on other sewing projects (and knitting a very special baby blanket for a cousin!) that this has really fallen to the back burner. I have the "skirt" portion of my costume done, but I will be updating soon as I finish these off!

Magical Mail!​

Just leaving this here:

DBF was insistent on grey, as he's more of a neutrals fan. I went with red, but I plan on getting an in-park exclusive band while down there.

I also received our magical express luggage tags, but I'm not going to post those as those are a bit less exciting. We won't need to use them as we are planning to carry-on only and ship any souvenirs back home in a box we'll be bringing.
