Every now and then there will be a report on here about a non-Disney owned restaurant doing this, not letting an "adult" order off the kids menu even if you're not on the dining plan. Two-three years ago my oldest occasionally ordered off the kids menu, he was over 10, not on DDP and never had a problem but they were all Disney owned.San Angel Inn flat-out refused to let my DD order from the kids menu when she was about 13. Everything on the adult menu had either meat or cilantro in it, and she didn't eat either of these at the time. We said thank-you, we'll have dinner elsewhere! (fortunately this was before the no-show fee!)
