My husband and I are planning an adult only trip in January and are currently booked at BLT in a studio, lake view. I am very concerned over the size of the room. Even though there are just 2 of us, we still like to have room to feel like we have space and are not so confined. I watched some YouTube videos and the bathroom looks so small and the bedroom area looks smaller than value size rooms, am I looking at them wrong? I am thinking of moving to Poly, because I love it and I really don't care if here is a lot of construction going on right now. We have never stayed in a studio at BLT, will we be in for a tight squeeze or should we move to the tropical breeze?

I know it is not the answer to your question, but we are doing an adult stay next month with three couples and chose a Preferred View at SSR so we don't have to deal with transportation to/from DTD since our focus is eating and drinking (with one night at Topolinos). If you love Poly, I would move to Poly but there really isn't anything going on there now.
For an adult trip, I would base it on what your priorities are for your stay (parks...which one(s), dining, etc.).

I would base it more on what would you rather see and the feelings you’ll have, while sitting on a balcony at either location. That BLT Lake view!!! Because of that, I’d stick with BLT and experience a first visit in a BLT studio. Think with 2, BLT will feel fine on space. That short walk option to MK! But either pick is great.

I've not stayed in a BLT studio myself, but I've seen other reviews on here mention size as a potential issue. Poly on the other hand, we love the lake view studios. Really love the fact that they have two bathrooms. I get ready in one and my husband in the other and it's so nice to have all that space! I also greatly prefer the theming of Poly to BLT/Cont, personally.

Yes. We love Poly and have stayed there multiple times. We did stay at Bay Lake in a 1 Bedroom in July, but a Studio is so much smaller. Was looking for something different and close to MK, just not sure now if BLT is worth the points for the smaller room. Such a hard decision....Maybe I should have done a poll too. LOL!

I'm a BLT owner. The "size" issue of BLT studios is vastly inflated. The kitchen, a galley, is cramped for more than one person at a time. The bathroom size is fine, and not at all cramped. The rest of the room, with only two people, is more than adequate. Lake view or theme view gives you something to look at, and you can't beat the "commute time" to MK via the path and the never-crowded bag check along that path.

Unless you're on the second or third floor at Poly, you won't see the water. Most of the rooms face less than "tropical" views of other buildings or the monorail. With the construction, most of Poly is closed. While this is great if you're planning on going to the pool, it's also not ideal because the monorail will not be stopping.

The BLT studio has a balcony and weather in january could be very nice. I would consider size a non-issue with the balcony.

I would always choose Poly over BLT. But not right now. Too much construction going on.

BLT doesn't have night stands in the studios. Just a bit wider headboard with a spot to set your glasses or phone. I think the lamp is wall mounted. There isn't enough room for a night stand, so the sleeper sofa is really close to the bed. If you don't plan on opening up the sleeper sofa, it should be find for two people.

We like the set up of studios in BLT. For two people, I definitely would stay there. I would not decide where to stay based on You Tube.

IMO, BLT Studio is just the right size for 2 adults...maybe 2 adults and a younger child. Any more than that, and it will feel crowded.

The BLT Studios are small...comparable in size to the Value studios at AKV. If the AKV Value studios feel small/cramped to you, then the BLT studios will also feel small/cramped. If that is the most important thing to you, then i'd probably avoid the BLT studio. IMO, the studio is a fine size, especially if the couch isn't unfolded in to a bed.

The studio at the Poly is definitely bigger. BLT studio is one of the smallest and Poly is one of the biggest. If space is one of the more important features, then BLT studio is probably not a good fit for you.

For me, I don't find the small space at BLT to be a problem. It's small, but very functional. IMO, BLT simply has the best location for getting around all of WDW: Walking Distance to MK. Monorail to MK. Monorail to Epcot (normally, not right now during COVID) Monorail to Poly and GF Restaurants. Boat to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge restaurants (again, normally...maybe not during COVID). Walk to MK bus stop to get to ALL other hotels/Restaurants at WDW.

Additionally, I enjoy the small footprint of the resort. It's a quick elevator ride and a short walk to any of the hotel amenities (quick service, mug refill, pool, restaurants, etc.) Some other DVC can be quite the trek to get to the main resort areas (SSR, OKW, etc...).

Again, it VERY much comes down to a matter of what's important for you and your group. For me, I would prefer convenience and amenities over space. You may feel differently. If a small space will make you unhappy, then I would avoid BLT studio.

On the other hand...BLT 1-bedroom is VERY large with tons of room to spread out. Maybe a splurge?

I stayed last month at Riviera in the deluxe studio and it was very spacious. The bathroom was huge. It had 2 showers and one of them could have held 4 people.

It depends on if you are an even number or odd number. Odd numbers are smaller since they are on the inside of the curve. Even numbers are larger since they are on the outside of the curve. And they will be set up differently, too.

DH and I did adults only trip and stayed at BLT. Thought it was totally fine as far as size and we made simple breakfast each morning in the kitchenette at the same time. Actually, I kind of liked the "separate" kitchenette area instead of the kitchenette in the walkway like at the Poly. We own at Poly and have stayed there a number of times, usually with all 4 of us, but I did stay there 2 nights on a solo trip in a studio and it was certainly too much room for just me. Probably would have felt that way with 2 of us. Planning a June trip with just 1DS and me and am considering BLT - he really wants to stay there but I want to see if we can get into a place I haven't been to yet.

I just returned for a solo trip to a Poly std studio (Pago Pago) and it will be my last trip there. The storage for clothes and food is non-existent. There are drawers under the bed but I found them inconvenient to access. I ended up using the bathroom to store my food. My main complaint was that during the day there was a constant noise of doors slamming. Since the noise was so frequent I assumed it was from the cleaning staff. I had to work for part of each day but if you are at the parks all day this shouldn't be a problem. As a solo traveler I found all of the space devoted to bathrooms a waste. BLT studios may be smaller but they have great storage and organization. I love the Poly grounds but in the future I will just stay at BLT and visit the Poly.

The monorail platform at Poly is currently under construction, so if you plan to use the monorail, go for BLT.

if you want to sit outside and enjoy your balcony go with BLT. The views from most POLY studios except maybe lake views are not that great. and when sitting in the chairs on balcony you cant see ANYTHING except the brown wooden slats. We tried a POLY studio for 2 nights and then moved outta there. The whole "its got 2 bathrooms" thing isnt a draw for us.

I much prefer BLT. The problem with Poly for me is that when the weather is yucky, you have to go outside to get to food, etc,

BLT has the bridge and you can stay warm and dry!

agree nothing like leaving your room and being soaked within minutes... We love the DVC that have covered walkways to main blds.
