Adukts only DLR...Thoughts?

DH & I are considering DLR for 10yr anniv in Fall. Always go to WDW (with DS2 & DS6) and think DLR for this adults only trip would be a fun change. Where should we begin our planning. Somewhat spoiled by our knowledge of WDW planning so welcome any thoughts insight pointers etc.

So fun! DH and I do little adult only trips. It's so relaxing and nice to do little things we don't do with the kids. DLR is super easy to navigate. Everything is easily walkable. I would consider splurging on staying at a disney resort hotel. So nice! And in het he disney bubble. For sure try out Trader Sams bar at the DLH! So fun and awesome drinks! Try the yummy restaurants. We love steakhouse 55 at the DLH. Blue bayou is also amazing, can't beat eating inside pirates! I've also heard wonderful things about cart hay and napa rose.

If you can afford it, the Walk in Walt's Footsteps is pretty incredible! Going inside Walt's apartment was a dream come true!

You will have an excellent time. And congrats on 10 years!

DH and I spent our 21st anniversary there in 2012. It is fabulous for adults only! I totally agree with the Blue Bayou by the waterside for sure. Ask for it when you call for reservations and be sure to remind them when you go for your meal. It is TOTALLY worth it! DH and I are planning on spending our 25th there as well.

We loved being able to stroll through the stores and snoop. We of course, did all our favorite rides repeatedly.

We did adults only for our anniversary last year and had a blast. We have aps this year so we are discussing doing a kid free trip again this year.

I just did an adult solo trip and loved it. I left my 8 kids at home. I did 3 tours and blue bayou and was going to do steakhouse 55 but couldn't fit it in. Did the city race scavenger hunt race on Jan 5 my birthday and had a fabulous time!!

"Adults only" is way more common at DLR than WDW. Lots of people drop by after work, head down from L.A. for special birthdays or anniversaries. You'll have lots of company. It's really easy to have a romantic, couple-vibe visit. IN DL, you're best bet is the New Orleans Square area. The vibe, live music, and restaurants in the area are probably the most popular. I'd do Blue Bayou waterside or Cafe Orleans on the patio with the view of the Rivers of America for a special dinner. Late evening--the hours after Fantasmic! (if it's being offered when you're there) until closure are really magical in DL, too. While the crowds leave, you can wander at your leisure.

Wife and I would LOVE to do this. Two problems....

1. Nobody would watch our kids.
2. Our kids would kill us upon our return for going to DLR without them.

Go for it! The Blue Bayou is very romantic, but hard to get a reservation. We walked up as they opened and were able to get a lunch table right at 11:30. I would recommend the Park Vue Inn. They are walking distance, free breakfast, parking and wife. On our last trip, we got a room with a jacuzzi in it.

But our loving Disney daughter would have something to say about this. Maybe the wife and I can "sneak" an evening away on this trip coming up soon...

When I celebrate my birthday at Disneyland, it's always my 29th birthday.

DH and I have made over a dozen adults only DLR trips (probably because we don't have kids!) We have been there for three anniversaries. The first anniversary was disastrous (it was also our first wedding anniversary)- but through no fault of Disney's. (wildfire broke out next to our house) The others have all been amazing. Just a great and relaxing time to immerse yourself in a bit of magic.

If you have anything specific in mind I would be happy to make suggestions!
