One factor which has made the table-service restaurants much busier, and therefore very hard to get into without ADRs is the
Disney Dining Plan (inclusive dining with Disney resort/Magic Your Way ticket package). This proved hugely popular and has inundated restaurants. This year it is less good value but presumably still popular.
To me it's a bit of a shame to that you can't be spontaneous and call up on the day or the day before when you have a better idea of what you fancy, like I remember you used to be able to do, but times change.
If you don't want one of the must-haves (Cinderella's Royal Table, Le Cellier, Liberty Tree Tavern), and are prepared not to eat at peak times, then you shouldn't have too much trouble getting some ADRs. Actually I did manage to secure an 8:30 reservation at Le Cellier for this coming April a few weeks ago after having failed last year. Slightly later than I wanted but beggars can't be choosers!
