When making ADR's with a baby do we count the baby towards the number of people? She won't be eating and will most likely just be sitting there in her stroller

Every person at the table, regardless of age or whether they're eating counts, so yes, the baby needs to be included on your reservation. It has to do with seating capacity, safety and fire regulations.

PP is correct that your infant must be counted. Also, strollers are not always allowed in the restaurants. It's usually a case by case basis. Some restaurants don't have enough space between the tables to allow any strollers. Some will allow a stroller inside if the child is sleeping. But you can't count on that.

Yes, you count the baby. Doesn't matter if the child will not be eating or sitting in a stroller, they need to be counted.

If you have a party of seven including the baby, and you book for six, when you show up with a seventh person they will change you to a party of seven. The age of the person is not relevant. This may result in waiting longer.

It is true that some restaurants will require the stroller to be parked outside.

I wouldn't count on her sitting in her stroller during meals. Restaurants are very tightly packed. Strollers are parked outside of restaurants.

You must count the baby because just like in regular buildings, Disney World and Disneyland restaurants have an unspoken capacity. Your little baby will be counted toward the number of people. Also, the stroller is not usually allowed especially in character dining venues. Hope this helps!!!

I thought she would count due to capacity issues

Hmm, now I'm concerned where she will be while we are eating. I can't count on her being able to sit up in a high chair, she will only be 4 months old:confused3

Don't worry! I took my youngest daughter to WDW when she was 2 months old. I was making ADR's on the phone and I asked for accessible seating. Because of her age, they allowed me to put her stroller where a wheelchair would go. We were dining at Tusker House Restaurant. PM me and I'll tell you more about what you can do. I'm here to help!!!

I wouldn't count on them allowing that at the busy character meals. They aren't going to turn away someone in wheelchair because someone wants to bring their stroller in.

OP, I would wear her in a carrier or wrap.

Well, they let me in. They probably won't let people with babies over 7 or 8 months. And since I work at WDW, I was friends with the hostess at Tusker House and the operator on the phone.

I went with my sis when she had a baby that was 3 months old, and they didn't always let us bring a stroller into the restaurant. You can't count on being allowed to do so. Sometimes they will, sometimes they won't. When they wouldn't allow a stroller in, we just took turns holding the baby. It wasn't a big deal.

I have a somewhat related question, but I apologize in advance if it's off topic.

I recently changed all of my September reservations from a party of five to a party of six because we've decided to bring our 18 month old son with us. Since we won't be ordering a separate meal for him, will we still be charged the automatic gratuity for a party of six?

Just my personal experience since it does vary. Two weeks ago I went to Cape May Cafe for breakfast. It was just me and my almost five month old who does not sit in a high chair yet. They did not let me keep the stroller. I wore him in the Ergo while I ate and just pulled him out for character pics.

Yep.
