How hard is it to use TS credits without ADRs? I'm thinking maybe Teppan Edos or Cape May breakfast ..Just not really sure what I'm going to be doing on what days after the first couple of days. I know CRT needs to be ADR-I'm having to give up a reservation on March 5th for lunch if anyone is interested-but beyond that how hard is it to get in? Sepcifically-Sci FI theater...teppan edo, cape may breakfast, Coral Reef---any others I should be aware of? Also any recommendations for CS at various parks would be AWESOME

Personally, I would make ADR's wherever you want to eat. There's always a chance they won't be full but, more than likely, you will find it difficult to get into the most popular restaurants without an ADR (LeCellier is one that you literally ahve to maek 180 days ahead of time). We went to Cape May Cafe for breakfast in September and had an ADR for 10:15 and it was a good thing we did--it was very busy.

Our favorite CS establishments are:

Magic Kingdom -- Cosmic Rays, Columbia Harbor House
Epcot -- Sunshine Seasons
Hollywood Studios -- None
Animal Kingdom -- Flame Tree Barbecue

I believe ADR's are most likely for the restaurants you listed. Most are really hard to get in, and walk ups are not accomodated very often. Personally I would not risk not being able to use my pre paid TS credits.
Have a Great Trip

I have walked up a couple of times for Sci Fi, but not real recently (maybe 3 years ago the last time) and gotten in with not to long a wait. Both times we got there around 2 or 3pm and we were seated at the picnic table like seats. They have a car back and front, but the middle is like a picnic table. I think we waited about 30 minutes once, and 15 the other time. You can always make a reservation with the thought that you will cancel and try a different day/place if the mood strikes and there is availabilty.

CYA and make a res.
Silly not to- really-since they can always be changed.

You have already paid to eat at one TS restaurant for each night of your trip. It would kill me to have not planned ahead and have a night or two (or more) where I couldn't get into a restaurant or had to travel to somewhere else to eat that meal I already paid for.

I'd suggest just deciding what park you are most likely to be at and make an ADR around that. If you decide the night before or morning of that you want to change, call then to see what's available. AT least that way you are not traveling all over the world to get to a restaurant and you're not eating a burger instead of a filet!

I totally agree!!! My only other comment is that if OP doesn't want to be tied down to ADR's maybe the DDP isn't the best fit for them. It's not for everyone. :)

We go to Disney every other year, the first time in 2005, we did not have DDP, 2nd time in 09-07 we had free dining and it was fabulous. However, that being said, b/c of the promotion most of our ADR table services we had to eat for lunch b/c dinner was not available. Coral Reef, Le Celleliar were two of our faves and I know we would have not gotten in even at lunch if it weren't for ADRs. Disney is not letting anyone make any ressies past the end of March right now but as soon as they do, I will be calling for our trip in May. Also, that being said, my brother and his family go with us when we go, they are doing the quick dine plan and my family is doing the table service plan. The last post was right when they said that the ddp is not for everyone. We don't like fast food when on vacation, we want Dining..which is why we do the table service ddp, however my brother's family is very picky and they don't want to be tied down.

I don't think you will get into SCi-Fi with out an ADR, unless you want to eat a very off time, like 3 PM and even then you probably wont get a car as they give them to the people with ADR's. We have seen walk ups get turned down at SCI-FI and just about every place we have eaten dinner/lunch at. I would at least call when you get down there and see what you can get. You may be able to get Japan or other restaurants in Epcot if you do 8 Pm or later. While waiting to be seated at Rose and Crown last May a man and his family asked if they could be seated. The CM asked if they had an ADR and the man got visibly annoyed and said that this was the 4th country he was trying to eat at that night, they paid for this meal plan, blah blah blah. The CM told them to try Morroco.

Two years ago we had a 6 Pm ADR at Flying Fish that we wanted to change to 8:30 Pm. We called the dining line that afternoon over lunch and we were able to switch it. When we checked in that night, they were turning away walk-ups. If those people had just called earlier in the day, they probably would have gotten in. :confused3 So, you may have some luck doing that.

That's spring break time, granted not close to Easter, I'd make the ADRs. We were at WDW the first week of Feb an all of the people we saw who asked about walkups were turned away.
