ADRs made awhile ago, now adding DDP...

do I need to call back on the ADRs since they always ask if we are on a plan or is it enough to tell them at the location?

Also, has anyone ever told your server up front that they expect excellent service and that you tip accordingly? There is nothing worse than having a nice meal ruined with bad service and there's been a LOT of bad service on our recent trips. At Coral Reef last time, I told the server up front I was not on the DDP and would tip commensurate to the service and FINALLY had a fresh drink delivered when my first one was empty. I also want to be certain to see a receipt with the actual totals both for my records and for tipping, is that something I have to request, too?

You can call back, but you probably don't need to - I think every restaurant I visited asked if I was on any dining plan and if I had any food allergies (and by the time my server came to my table, they'd already been informed of the allergies).

As for bribing the server up front with the promise of a good tip in an attempt to ensure good service? My personal opinion (in case you couldn't already tell ) is that it's demeaning. Instead, if a diner is displeased with the service or lack thereof, see a manager during the meal.

We were in the same situation, we had everything booked, then switched to free dining when that was announced. I didnt do anything to my ADRs and there was no problem. Actually, I eventually had to add on another person to most of them but, that didnt involve mentioning the plan.
