ADR's in January...

How necessary are they? I'm talking the last week. My family has ALWAYS gone in Jan and NEVER had to make an ADR. It's been a few years since their last trip and they look at my like I have 2 heads when I tell them we need to make ressies to eat. Now I've been there since then just not in January and I just barely got the ADRs I wanted (Oct- free dining). I'm going to make them for the couple if character dining that I want but idk if we should "wing it" for the rest or not? I only ask cause the week were going seemed to be the least crowded week aside from Sept. Thanks!

We always go in Jan or Feb and yes, you will need ADR's in the popular places... character meals, le Cellier, Ohana's, etc.
But you will be able to find "last minute" ADR's around, but don't count on them being your top picks in location or times.
