I am thrilled to be planning a WDW trip for next Easter. I know it will be crowded so we hope to make our ADRs at the 180 day mark to ensure we get them. I've never booked a trip or ADRs before so it is all new (though I've learned a ton here)!

I understand that it is important for vegetarians to note their needs in the ADR and then call a few days prior to the reservation to confirm. My question is, is it better for me to call and make my ADR via the phone, or is it fine to make an online ADR with a note about being vegetarian? What have other folks found works?

Thanks for being such a great resource!

I'm a vegetarian, and must say... most restaurants already have a vegetarian specific menu item(s). If you're VEGAN, then yes, it's important to have this noted on your reservation.

No matter what - if you call in or do ressies online - you can always call in later to have your vegetarian comments noted.

Thanks for the info! I know WDW is very veg-friendly, but for a few places (Ohana dinner, for example) I want to make sure something is available. I would far rather make online ADRs (I hate the phone!), so your info helps :)

I had the chef come out to meet with me at 'Ohana (seems to be the case with most veg/vegans), and he came up with a rocking meal. You'll get the idea from this site... http://land.allears.net/blogs/guestblog/2010/01/a_vegan_adventure_at_ohana_1.html

Honestly, 'Ohana is the one place my kids & DH (meat eaters) and I relish. I can't get a spot for our upcoming trip, so honestly hope WCC has something edible for me :goodvibes

Please be aware that Chef TJ is no longer at 'Ohana, so do not expect to receive the level of service or the amazing meal described in the above post. Not to say you won't still have an amazing veggie meal at 'Ohana but don't have too high expectations. The standard vegetarian option offered is a bowl of noodles with stir fried veggies and tofu, which got very lukewarm reviews from the vegetarians in my party.
