ADRs for TS Every Day = Yes to DDP?

I never thought I would be one to use the Dining Plan, I didn't think it would fit our touring style - which has always included not having time to sit down to a TS every day. But...I just went on an ADR frenzy and finished up our itinerary and low and behold, we have a TS ADR each day! (which I'm actually excited about this time) So does that automically mean the DDP would save us money? We don't usually share meals and DS always orders off of the kids menu. Anyone out there eat a TS each day and still not think the DDP is worth it?

Thanks for the help! :)

It's still really dependent on what you'd be ordering. I would head over to allears.net and get a rough estimate of what you'd spend OOP based off what you'd order vs the dp.

Don't forget to include if you'd be getting another QS meal and/or snack throughout the day.

Depending upon where you're eating those TS, it sounds like it could be beneficial for you. There's never a black and white answer with the DP!

A lot of that depends on if they are for breakfast, lunch, or dinner as well as the makeup of your party. Also, do all of you want dessert at every meal or would you be happy sharing one. And, do you drink water or do you prefer soda/coffee/tea? There are more variables than just having a TS each day.

For my group when we have an ts meal that day, we eat light the rest of the day. We may just grab snacks or share a cs to get us to the "big meal". If we have a big ts breakfast, we usually end up having a light dinner and no lunch. We dont do big breakfast very often because we light to hit the rides first and that is hard when you are stuffed.

Us. And we (family of 4) did 2 shows (Hoop De Doo and Aloha), plus ate dinner at the Castle, Narcosse's, Fantasmic Dinner Package, and Tappan Edo.

My reasons.

1. I have a 12 year old (Disney Dining Adult) who does not normally eat like an adult. Waste of money IMO to pay for her.
2. Don't normally want dessert right after dinner. Would rather digest a bit, walk around or hit some rides, and then see if still in the mood and so many more options from which to choose. May not want dessert-may prefer to get an appetizer.
3. Don't want or need a refillable mug. Water is fine during the day.
4. Most in the family don't want anything but water with meals.
5. Why do I want Disney to have more of my money when I haven't even eaten a morsel of food? Would rather pay for it a month or two later when the CC bill comes.
6. What if someone gets sick during the trip? Or we have a change in plans during the trip and want to go park commando and cancel some TS meals?
7. Don't want to be one of those people who brag about "how they left with credits" or "used higher level credits for lower value food" or "brought home all these snacks from WDW"-those are some pricey snacks.
8. Don't want to analyze what is being eaten to make sure we maximize value. Not going to order a steak or lobster instead of chicken if in the mood for chicken.

IMO.

I am sure you've gotten plenty of different views and it all comes down to you and your party

For instance, I just came back from Disney (so sad it's been 10 days i've been back)

But I was there for 6 nights and each night with TS
You can head over to my TR in my signature to see

I think DDP is worth it because well the convenience of it and you can choose your entree to your liking and get the one that is worth it

Question, did you get Free Dining Plan and did the upgrade? or did you straight out add on?

When I originally booked my trip I paid for the full Dining Plan (did that last year's trip as well)
I thought it was worth it, I didn't have to worry about what to eat since all my ADRs was set..didn't have to worry about how much to spend on regular counter meals and snacks

As long as you plan accordingly I think you can make the DDP worth it.

Downside of the TS is that they no longer include tips and you have to pay that OOP, which I think is a bummer

This is where I am with DDP. I would get it again if it were somehow part of a discount (and it was the best discount I could get).

I would add
addendum to #2. I might want dessert with every meal but not the dessert choices offered. For instance, I want to eat lunch at Columbia Harbor House, but that apple thing for dessert is not something I would pay OOP for in a million years.

9. Although the DDP includes almost all restaurants and snacks, there are some things that I like that are NOT included. So I either get these things and have DDP credits leftover OR I don't do them (Case in point...have not done tea at Grand Floridian because it is not on DDP and doing that would have made me have other credits leftover).
