Are you on the Deluxe Dining Plan? If you are going to be tied to 2 TS ADRs everyday, I would highly suggest making Breakfast and Dining reservations and not lunch and dinner, unless you are eating lunch at about 11 a.m. and dinner at about 8 p.m. 2 TS meals per day take up a lot of time and it's a lot of food to ingest if the dining intervals are too close together. Also, if you are on the plan, Rainforest Cafe at AK and DTD are not accepted on the DDP. Also, unless you are planning on doing mostly 2 Credit TS meals, you are losing money with the Deluxe plan.

If you are not on the Deluxe plan, I would cancel at least one TS per day. This is coming from someone who has toured Disney for the last 6 years with a party of 6 while being on the DDP, but it's just my personal opinion . . . .

We are actually paying OOP and know it will be expensive. Good idea about doing an early lunch and late dinner. Just need suggestions on what is good.:goodvibes

You can look at the menus for all of these restaurants at www.allearsnet.com or you can look over at the Dining Reviews of this board for very detailed descriptions of these meals, often with pictures included.

With this being your first trip, and with it being during the VERY crowded and VERY hot summer season, I would highly recommend cutting your ADRs down to 1 TS meal per day. Your ID says Party of 6 and we are a party of 6 also and I can tell you from experience that our 4 kids like having one sit-down meal per day but would really balk at a lunch and dinner sit-down meal. Just too much to see and do in the parks.

Good Luck!

Thank you, I really appreciate the suggestion. I think we will just stick with one sit down a day. What are the chances of us finding sitting at QS sites?

The key is to eat early. Head to the quick service places between 11:00 and 11:30, before the big lunch rush, and you won't have any trouble with lines or finding a seat. I always take one or two kids with me and send my husband and the other kids to get condiments and get us a table. It works out well. The plan also works well because while everyone else is flooding the quick service places between 12:00 and 2:00 you will enjoy lower crowd levels around the parks. Hope ya'll have a magical vacation!

Do what's best for you don't change your plans because every one is telling you to only do one TS a day or make one a breakfast and one a dinner. We personally hate breakfast and will be using our DxDDP during August again and it is great to sit down out of the heat and take a break. I understand you are paying out of pocket so you do what you want it is your vacation! In the summer YES it can be really hard to find a place to sit at CS, especially the ones with indoor seating. Stick to your plan that you already have you can always change your mind the day of or day before if you don't want to go. Now to answer your actual question about the food.

Plaza Never ate here

Liberty Tree Tavern is a set family syle meal we ate here once a few years back and it was fine, much better places out there though, like sliding over to the The Wave at the CR

Tony's Haven't eaten here in a few years

Chef Mickey's have't' eaten here since 2 years ago, nothing to exciting about it, it is more for the characters.

Flame Tree again has been about 2 years, but I think it was a pulled pork sandwich, yummy

Rainforest Cafe I'll pass haven't had anything here that stood out

Le Cellier filet mignon and creme brulee

Via Napoli new for us this year

Kona never ate here

50's Prime Time again nothing over the top but it is fun and we will be eating here again this year, I have had the chicken sandwich which was ok and the meatloaf which was really good

Sci-Fi BLT soup, so yummy and different, onion rings, I have also had the shrimp penne pasta and chicken sandwich here, again this is a place for the atmosphere also and it is still fun, on our list again.

Rose Crown haven't been in years

Biergarten we love everything, potato leek soup, pretzel rolls, snitzel, love love love Biergarten

Of course the OP should do what they want on their vacation, but I believe people come to these boards to get info and insight from people who have been previously.

It's the OPs FIRST Disney trip with 4 kids at the height of summer break. Coming from a mother of 4, who has done the Disney parks (WDW and DL) at busy, hot times, I can say that they really would be better off with 1 TS meal per day. And if you eat early at the fast food places, there should not be any issue getting a seat. That's my opinion, the OP can, of course, take it or leave it, but I stand by my advice.

Not trying to argue, we all have our way of doing things, but everyone wanted to give the OP their opinion on when to eat and how many TS to do or not to do. They were asking for opinions on what to eat at each meal. Just stating what we do , as a mother of 3 having gone to both DL and WDW in the summer. We just aren't breakfast fans and prefer TS over CS, we enjoy the break from the parks and the heat and crowds. We all have our way of doing things.

The burger at Sci-Fi and fish and chips at Rose Crown! And of course the volcano desert at Rain Forest! <-- it used to come out lit with a sparkler!

I've only eaten at a few of your choices but heres my opinion.

Flame Tree - loved it! I had the bbq chicken salad and can't wait to get it again in August! DH had the pulled pork and also loved it, you get to add your own bbq sauce so it has just the right amount! Definately a must do again for us!

Kona - dinner- I can tell you what NOT to order! Don't get the shrimp & scallops - it was really bad! The shrimp tasted like the frozen kind you get in the grocery store and the scallops were very chewey and a little fishy - YUCK!! I wish we had ordered the terriaki steak - everyone raves about it but we had steak the night before and were going to LeCellier the next night.

LeCellier - we haven't been for lunch, only dinner (twice) both times we ordered the fillet - I ordered it with mashed potatoes and DH got it with fries. I'm not sure if its on the lunch menue but if it is get it! The maple creme brulee is very sweet but very yummy!

Rose & Crown - we also have only been for dinner but I think the menue is the same. I had the fish and chips - it is really good, DH had the surf & turf, this was VERY GOOD, I love yorkshire pudding, it comes with this meal you get a steak, fish, potatoes and the yorkshire pudding. I'm getting this next time! I also tried the Imperial Sampler - if you like beer you should try it!

Hope this helps.

We are trying a few new places this trip too.
It will be our first time at Chef Mickeys (dinner), MamaMelrose and Yak & Yetti!
