Hi All :wave2:

Just a quick question re: ADR's this December!

I have made a few bookings (Only there for a week and would like to eat outside "the world" occassionally!) Please can you comment on what I have chosen (There is DSis :earsgirl: 14, DSis :earsgirl: 11 and me :earsgirl: 26)

12th Dec - Whispering Canyon (pm) - We are staying at Wilderness Lodge and didn't fancy having to drive anywhere after the 9 hour flight!! And I really don't mind the noise!!! ;)

13th Dec - Chef Mickey's (am) ::MickeyMo

14th Dec - Rainforest Cafe @ DTD (pm) - I personally don't think this is anything special but DSIS's have never been!!! :paw:

15th Dec - Liberty Tree Tavern - This is the one I am a little unsure of!! But we have tickets for MVMCP on this date, open to suggestions of a better place to eat

Others that I would like to do with them are Beaches and Cream both for lunch and for icecreams so I presume that will have to be done on different days as I have been for icecreams before - they are fantastic, :cheer2: but way too filling if you are having a meal too!!!! Sci-Fi Cafe for Lunch?? a restaurant at the Grand Floridian (open to suggestions!!)

Looking at this now, we should have booked for two weeks just so we can eat at all the places that appeal!!! :rotfl:

We found the food at Beaches and Cream very mediocre. We don't really like burgers much but these were REALLY dry and pretty tasteless. The ice creams were quite nice but nothing special - I'd go to Ghiradellis in DTD or even the ice cream parlour at MK which in my opinion has better basic ice cream.

At GF I would suggest either 1900 Park Fayre if you want a character buffet or Grand Floridian Cafe for a proper table service meal - it's NOTHING like a cafe here and food is very good!!! Liberty Tree Tavern is really nice - good traditional type food served family style.

Sci Fi is a novelty so you might want to go for that but be prepared for poor, cold food and long waits for it to arrive.

Bomas at AKL is nice, VERY noisy but a bit different - this is a buffet too with something for everyone and AKL is well worth a visit.

To make an ADR at the Rain Forest Cafe in DTD you used to have to call direct and not through WDWDINE - not sure if this has changed or not.
You can make ADRs at the AK RFC though through WDWDINE :)

Also, it was possible to book at the LTT when you booked your MVMCP tickets, even though it was over the then 90 day limit. So, there may be limited times available.

Thanks gilld,

Might go for the Grand Floridian Cafe then!! :goodvibes

As for the others, my sisters wanted to see the "kitchen sink" hence our choice for Beaches and Cream and we will probably end up at Ghiradellis anyway as we are going to sign up for the free icecream offer!!!

As for Boma, I stayed at AKL :paw: for 2 weeks in July and you are correct the food and the hotel are "to die for" but knowing my two sisters as I do I know that the youngest wouldn't touch the food!!! I will be of course taking them to have a look around AKL as they both want to see it and it is, by far, the nicest hotel I have stayed in - ever!!! :cloud9: (up to now that is!!)

Thanks Goofyish!!!

No problems - I already have the ADR's booked and managed to book the LTT at the 90 day mark, although like I said, this is the one that I am a little unsure about!!! but I just wanted to know what you all thought!

Anywhere that you would suggest for 2 children, one that is a little too fussy!? :rotfl:

:listen: :listen: :listen:

I'm booked for LTT on Xmas Eve :)

My youngest DD is also a fussy so-and-so, but is now 12 so now an adult in Disney eyes  We have tried to stick with buffet type restaurants where she is almost guaranteed to like something. Although I'm a little miffed at paying adult prices if all she has from the buffets is chicken nuggets and fries!

You could take a look at 'Ohana - the coconut races and hoolahooping is fun for the kids, and it's easy to get to MVMCP on the monorail if you go for an early dinner. Children can order from a childrens' menu that's similar to the Kona Cafe menu.
The Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary Resort is another option for a meal before MVMCP if you book an early ADR.
