ADR's and larger familes?

Is it harder to get a reservation with more people in your party? I had no problem booking our ADR's with just the 4 of us. But we are meeting my parents and my niece a couple of times and it was much harder it seemed.

I have booked for my entire family and didn't have a problem if you call with enough advance notice.

We're a family of 5, but we have other family and friends joining us for some meals during our upcoming trip. Our group size will vary from 5 to 11, depending on the day. I called right at 90 days and had no problems getting ADRs.
