ADR System Upgrade - History

hoping for online dining reservations...even if the system is slow it'll have to be faster than the current phone system~

I would love it if they released the park hours 100 days out, so everyone would have time to plan!

They really should just stop taking reservations. Or at least leave some spots open for walk-ups. Usually when I am on vacation I prefer not to stick to a specific schedule nor do I know what I want to eat 90 days before my vacation.

Park hours are out now for further out than 90 days. All of June are out. I hope you're not telling be that people make ADR's at the parks with extended late hours because that was going to be my strategy!

I've also "broken" it people at work who didn't know about the change. Those of us who hang out on these boards generally know more than the average person about what's going on at WDW!

I think it has more to do with park hours not being available until 90 days out.

We booked our trip for July 21 - 28 tonight. When can I make my dining reservations? We are on the ding plan.

disney has changed their policy don't like it either like the 180.

look at this way, it'll give you an extra 90 days to go over your dining itinerary and make sure it is just right :thumbsup2

:cool1: Didn't realize you could make online ressie....:cool1:

Yes Faith is a cool name.....

there's speculation that the public and travel agents will be able to book dining online once the new system is fully transitioned. If you look at post #1 on this thread, there's an announcement on there about it.

However, a few local Florida posters who are generally very "in the know" have said that the announcements have been misinterpreted and that to their knowledge there are no plans for online dining reservations. So:confused3 we're hoping

I thought a dining CM posted here that it's coming soon. maybe i read it wrong.

Called Sunday 8 am to make all my ADRs and that went fine after being on the phone over 1 1/2 hours. I was surprised that I could not get the California Grill or Le Cellier at all on the date of my choice and could only get a later seating at Le Cellier and Chefs de France on other dates during our vacation.

One thing you should watch out for: I also made Keys to the Kingdom tour reservations with my Disney Visa and after hanging up, realized that my discount was not applied. Called back Monday and the CM could not get the system to acknowledge the Visa discount. He said to call back in a few days. The problem would be brought to the attention of his "supervisor" and they would try to remedy the situation. Just be aware if you are using a Disney VISA to pay for something, your discount may not come off when you make the reservation.

FYI, although the oft-linked PS Caculator is nice, its a bit clunky in my eyes. So I've written what is at the moment a simpler (and hopefully clearer) ADR calculator. Give it a try and PM me if you have any suggestions or comments.

I've written it so that exceptions (such as the current CRT/V&A/CM June 19th exception) would be easy to incorporate, either as a note or an actual calculator.

You can get to it on my site linked below or more directly here.

Recently it seems that "Disney Resort" only includes those owned and operated by Disney - Swan and Dolphin are no longer included, and I assume the same for Shades of Green.

It has always been only 90 (or 180 for a time) days for Shades of Green (or at least the last 4 years). Although they receive many of the perks of Disney Resort Guests (it is paid for in their agreement with WDW), 90+10 reservations have never been one of them. Perhaps because they try to have guest sign on to their own dining plan.

Excellent, thanks for confirming!
