ADR System Upgrade - History

I saw this on all ears before I called, so I haven't talked to Disney directly yet. I"m sure this has been discussed, but what is the deal exactly? Is this part of their new upgrading or is it permanent? Is it the same 90 days + 10? We were actually a little relieved to see this, because our next trip is in may and we may stand a snowball's chance at getting some restaurants now!

I moved this to the sticky thread about the topic. The latest update(s) are always in the first post. Most of your questions are probably answered there. Let us know if you need anything else cleared up. :goodvibes

I am also happy about going back to 90 days! Now if Disney would just faithfully release the park hours/EMH days a few weeks before the 90 day ADR booking date, they would have to fewer and fewer 'change' calls to deal with!:thumbsup2

Totally agree!! I'm worried because we go May 1, so our ADR date is Jan. 31. If they wait till Feb to put out the May hours....too late for us!

Hi all,
I just got off the phone with disney dining. I was looking to make a ressie inside the Magic Kingdom on Saturday March 7th. They told me on the phone that the last seating for any restaurant in MK was inbetween 5-5:30. She said that it was not because they were booked up they are just not taking any ressies after these times. So I made a Crystal Palace ressie at 5:15. Does anyone know the reason for this or should I keep calling back trying to get a later ressie in case something changes?:confused3

Could it be possible that someone/a company has booked ressies at every restaurant in the MK for the entire evening?

Thanks for any responses.

Tim

Ok, trying to figure out what date I can make my other ADR's (already made CRT and CM)...is there a calculator somewhere?

Our next trip is May 2-9, and we are staying onsite.

Thanks for any info!

Chris

There is a link to the calculator in the first post. :goodvibes

Hey Everyone.... I have been sick for a couple of days and totally forgot about calling yesterday morning for my ADR's .... but luckily I called tonight and got everything I wanted.... not the exact times, but close.... Good Luck to everyone else....

PS.... It was very strange... I booked for Crystal Palace and the latest Dinner time they had was 6pm .... I booked for Sci-Fi and the latest they had was 6pm also ??? Do these times change on a daily basis? It just seemed really early for the last resevervation in the last week of March?

CRT closes at 6 pm during spring break!! I was shocked! Someone on disboards suggested that maybe they would release later hours closer to travel time...that they may still be deciding what time to close the parks based on crowd levels. But 6pm...seriously! This is dinner we are talking about!

We go May 1, and our date is Jan. 31, so I'm guessing you're Feb. 1!!

Wow! That IS early!! Is there still a possibility of P&PP during that time? Would that factor in?

Thanks for the calculator link, and I AM Feb. 1st. So thanks! I had read through the last few pages but not the FIRST page :lmao:

Wish they'd just post the hours already so I can make my plans based on more than just a "guess" about EMH's, etc.

Thanks, everyone!

Thank goodness I planned that day for our Epcot day.

I wonder if they are having a special party or something

That happened to us last year when I booked Y&Y at AK. Originally the park was supposed to close early. They ended up changing the hours at a later time. We kept the early dining time, but we could have called back & tried to change it.

I asked her to check the park hours on the phone while I was on the computer. We both saw that the park closes at 8pm with wishes at 8. I donno:confused3 :confused3

Grrrr! I called today, definitely 90 days out for March 23-26 and they wouldn't let me make ressies for the second half of my trip. They still said they were only taking them up to March 22. This is my honeymoon and while I'm not usually in the business of making reservations 90 days in advance of my eating I have been fastidiously planning this trip and just want to get it over with. DFi is already sick of me talking about our ADRs every single day but the longer they don't accept my reservations the more and more I am second guessing myself and changing my plans.

I would definitely call again as well. The same thing happened to me yesterday. The CM told me nothing past 3/22. Instead of making a production about it, I just called back and planned to until someone knew what they were doing. Luckily I got it my second try and this CM was so awesome, I wish I could remember her name.

With all of the changes to the ADR system we want to keep everything in one easy to reference place for everyone. That's why we have created this sticky thread. All questions and posts will be consolidated in this one sticky thread

The most current ADR information will always be in this post - so nobody will have to dig through pages and pages of updates and questions to find out what's what.

*******UPDATE 12/23/08*******

Everyone calling in today (since noon eastern) has said that they can book 90 days out right now. So today the window is open through 3/23. To determine your date you can click here http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/pscalc/dispscalc.html

This is a permanent change to the Dining System. Reported information from Disney's intranet confirms this for us.

According to Disney due to the growing pattern of guests finalizing their itineraries closer to their vacation experience they are permanently adjusting their reservation windows to 90 days. This includes Dining Reservations, Dining Package Reservations (Fantasmic! and Candlelight Processional), Recreation Reservations and Tour Reservations.
The above is not completely correct.

You can now only book Character Breakfasts 90 days ahead, the exceptions are:-
Chef Mickey’s
Cinderella’s Royal Table
Victoria & Albert
these can be booked up to the 19th June 2009 as at 26th December 2008.

To book call 001 407 939 3463, lines are open from noon UK time.

Thanks for the correction, we just discovered that yesterday and got CM confirmation today. I haven't made time to update the post as of yet.

I am also glad you posted because It's good to know that someone is still reading the first post. :rotfl:

I know it says that GG can make reservations 180 days in advance but is this only for the GG experiences or does this include all of our reservations?
