ADR System Upgrade - History

Okay I have a question, for the people who were able to book CRT, CM, and VA 180 days out stopping at June 19 where they allowed to book the extra 10 days also like the 90+10 policy? Hope this makes sense!

I would treat this ability to still book CRT, CM and V&A beyond the 90 day (or 90+10 day) window as a lucky accident. I do not think that Disney intended for this to continue to happen as it is not listed in any of the cast communications on the subject that I've seen.

I think that they simply haven't closed off that 'loophole' at this stage, and they don't see the need to bother now (as most people who book way in advance will have already booked by now anyway).

Given the level of cast member confusion about even the things that HAVE been stated officially in writing, I wouldn't rely on it too much though.

Yes, the ADR booking window is now 90 days. They did it specifically to torment me.
I am always on the phone 5 minutes before the lines open at my 180 mark. ALWAYS. They changed it so I will develop a twitch, and possibly suffer some sort of mental breakdown.
It already felt like August was a million months away, but I WAS going to book ADRs on 2/2. Now they have snatched away my last little glimmer of joy. :sad2:

I feel and share your pain :confused3
I am already holding the phone and I couldnt call until March! :rolleyes1
Now I have to wait until JUNE (quick head bob to left, and again)
:goodvibes

90 or 180, doesn't really make a big difference for me. I'll just be ready to call in Feb for the rest of my ADR's. :thumbsup2

Maybe. Do you have any of those big white chocolate raspberry ones like they sell at WDW?

Oh, my, those are decadent....I had hoped not to think about them again until we return in May :faint:

I don't mind the 90 day. Honestly, I can barely plan dinner at my house a few hours out, let alone dinner in Disney 6 months out. I would think people should still get their choices.

at least things are in motion--the uncertainty of it all was more :scared1: .

Ok I am totally confused, I thought I called in today for my ADR's. We are checking in on April 9th, I thought it would be today because of the 90 +10 rule, but now the disney person said no. So now I wait until 1/9/09....
The CM was pretty rude too, but she's probably tired of everyone calling in and trying to figure out the new ADR system

You still can call only 90 days before your reservation starts but THEN you can book 10 days worth of ADRs from that date.

PP is right. If you need a dining calculator, there is a link to one in the first post. Hope this helps :goodvibes

. . . since we cannot take advantage of the "+10" rule?

It seems that non-Disboard folks would be more likely to consider making reservations at the 90 day mark. This means that many more people who are staying at Disney resorts will be booking in their 10 day window.

By the time the Swolphin folks are able to book, many of those who are staying at a Disney resort will have booked their reservations.

Also, this means that for my 11 day vacation, I will now have to call every day for 11 days at the 90 day mark for each day that I'm there. (While that would be true when it was 180 days, I think it was less likely that a restaurant would be booked if you waited til the 180 day mark for the last day and booked all reservations on the same date.)

This will be our first stay at the Swan. It seemes that this will be an inconvenience, at the very least.

I hope there is someone out there who is REALLY smart on this dining ADR stuff.
I'm getting concerned becuase of the 90 day window, at first I was ok, whatever, maybe there will be less booking and changing.
However, I now realize that 180 put me making my ADR's before free dining opened to the public or to Disney visa holders (we have booked the past two years bounceback for free dining during free dining) Now we will be making them after that, which I saw as a perk since I made my commitment to disney well in advance.
Hey I love seeing everyone get a great deal, but now I'm like UGH. This is a double bad because we are forced to make two ressies because you cant add someone to a ressie (DD & DH coming down a few days later) so will I also loose my days on the 90 plus 10 and will have to call back again at the begining of the second ressie or will they let me book the plus 10 even if it's under a different ressie that is not 90 days out? Last yr I was told I had to call back, but It was only a day or two more, and I was booking before public free dining was announced, so I didn't push it. This year it is 5 and as many know, ressies are tuff to get during free dining. Help from anyone who can follow this is appreciated :confused3

For years the rule was 90 days out. It worked out just fine. When they switched to 180 days people thought it was terrible but for the most part they got used to it. Now they have switched back to 90 days. It will work out just fine. Don't worry about it. Everything will be fine.

We have an 11 day trip planned for July...Will I be able to book all 11 days at once or is the 11th day outside the window?

That 11th day is outside the window.

I called today to book Chef Mickeys (had to change the date) and asked when I could make all the rest of my ADRs, she told me to call on 3/14 on that day I can book from 6/12 - 6/22.

By the way, I called and the first CM told me I COULD NOT book anything outside 90 days. I knew I could book Chef Mickey's until 6/19 so I called back and the second CM said of course I can book it! I hate when I know more than the CMs!! :rotfl2:

I just made my ADRs for 3/30-4/4 - no hold time and and I got everything I wanted, at times within 10 minutes of my preferred times. :thumbsup2 I was surprised that it was so easy - where are all the callers? I think they told so many people mid-January that no one is bothering to check earlier . . .

 We're going to be in Disneyland at the same time I'm going to have to call for some of our WDW ressies! Yarg, that's annoying!!! It really sucks having to wake up at 4 AM in the first place to do them but it's really going to suck to do so at DL.

I wish it was 180 again.

I agree at 4am wake up really stinks. However, I would love to have that problem. We only get to WDW every other year, if we're lucky, and have never been to DL. I would love to have the problem of waking up early at DL to make our ADR's on the 90 day out mark from our WDW trip.

To be honest the only reservations I would worry about making as soon as the dining line opens would be CRT or a reservation for a holiday time, possibly Le Cellier. Other than those there is no way I would get up at 4 am to make a dining reservation. And I have never had trouble getting what I want.

I just made a reservation for 3/26 for LeCellier. I know it's past the 90 day mark. I had a big pick of times!

I think many people were told to call back in January and they aren't calling back just yet.

Dumb question.... I already booked CRT and CM for my trip in April but I changed my hotel reservation number. Will that cancel my existing reservation at those two restaurants or does it not matter?

Nope, it doesn't matter.
