ADR System Upgrade - History

It's very confusing. What the Mods have planned for this thread, to help everyone, is to continually update the first post with the most current information. When we update it, we'll make a note in the title that it's updated as of ...."

We have a dining CM who graciously tells us the instant she sees anything on her computer screen updating CM's of an upcoming change. So we are usually ahead of the curve on learning about updates.

Thank you for keeping us all in the loop!!!!

Just a quick question that I am sure has been asked before, but I just don't want to mess this up!! ;)

We will be at VWL from April 28 - May 6, 2009. My 180 day window is this Thursday for our arrival day of April 28. I understand that I can currently book CM and CRT at that mark. Can I still us the 10+ window from Thursday to try and book CM on April 30 and CRT on May 1???? Or do I need to wait until 180 prior to April 30 to try for CM and then 180 day prior to May 1 for CRT?

And how about booking the BBB? Is that currently at 90 days?

Also, any tips on getting through the new "voice prompt" system?!?!? I really don't like that thing!

Thanks for the help!

Yes, the +10 applies for those staying onsite. Some have had problems convincing a CM that it does. They've had success by hanging up and calling back to speak with someone else. :)

Can someone please explain? Thanks, sorry if I missed it somewhere

Hi there,
I was confused first too! It means that you can call to make reservations 180days before you check in to your Disney resort for the first 10 days of your vacation. So, if you are checking in on April 28 and staying through May 3, you can call to make reservations for your whole trip 180 days before April 28. This is something that Disney does for their resort guests. If you are staying off property, the +10 does not apply. At this time you can make ressies only for CRT, CM, and V&A)

Hope that helps.

We keep hearing that a new ADR system will be in place soon. Does anyone know if we will be making a dining reservations via the Disney site with this system?

I am merging this with the ADR system thread stickied at the top of this forum. The online portion is addressed in the first post.

We also have a Disney Dining CM who keeps a very close eye on that thread. If you have any more questions, be sure to post them there. She's fantastic about getting back to posters. (Her name is DisneyDine)

IS this old new or new? I was on the phone with DVC today adding the DP onto our ressie and asked the CM when I could book my ADRs for May and she said Dec 1st.

Will it be easier to call DVC and book my ADRS through them on Dec 1st or just call disney dining?

The official word is "Late December" per a computer generated communication with a CM who shared with us here on the Dis.

I am going to merge this with the sticky thread about the ADR system, so the dining CM who posts here can see it and weigh in on what is going on with a possible move to earlier in the month.

Well I hope it is Dec 1st!

Thank you Tricia.

I had read that Disney was going to start offering online dining reservations by the end of Oct. Has anyone else heard anything new on this? Maybe I just missed something.

I am going to merge this into the ADR thread. Everything known (and some things only suspected) is covered in the first post. Hope this helps! :goodvibes

I hope for everyone's sake that it's December 1st as well! Unfortunately the official word from Disney (that they sent to their CM's) said late December. :sad1:

This is all I know as of now...

As development of the Scheduled Events application continues, it has become necessary to adjust the previously communicated launch plan. The revised date for transition to the new dining reservation system is mid-December 2008.

As a result of this change to the timeline, additional dates will be made available for guest bookings in DRS, which you may begin booking after October 26, 2008.

The last reservation date that guests will be able to book through DRS has now changed to March 22, 2009.

By December 22, 2008 the booking window will return to normal allowing Guests to book up to 180 days of arrival.

Ok, so tomorrow is my 180th day from my trip to Disney, and I know that I cannot make all my ADRs, but I can book CRT, right?? Is there anything else that I can book now? Do you know when the system will be up and running so I can schedule the rest?? This is my first time make reservations, so is there anything else I need to know, or does anybody have any tips?

The other 2 restaurants that are still available to book are Chef Mickey's and Victoria & Albert's (I think.)

How come some CMs say different dates. Like for real just tell everybody the real date.

I was told Dec 1st yesterday so I'm calling then lol and I'm going to call before that on my 180 mark and see what they say.

Because like at any job not everyone checks every email or does everything they are told. What I gave you is official information. I know it's frustrating to get so many different answers. But that's all I can tell ya. :confused3

Thanks for this! I updated the first post with the official information.

You're really doing everyone a favor here posting the truth of what's going on and we all appreciate knowing about it.

You've always been 100% accurate in the information that you share here, and I trust you implicitly. You have also been an incredible resource sharing here before the word gets out to the general public.

Thank you again! It's so good to know what is really going on vs all of the rumors that float around.
