ADR System Upgrade - History

Maybe someone who's smarter than I can better answer that question, but I think that depends on how long your total vacation is. I believe that you are entitled to invoke the 90 plus 10 rule regardless of the actual length of your stay, whether it is 1 day or 10 days. Therefore, if you are doing a split stay for a total of 10 days or fewer, it may not make a difference. Once you are 90 days away from your first day, your 90 + 10 window would open up for the following 10 days even if you are staying only 1 night.

Now if you are staying more than 10 days, that may be different.

Actually, whether or not they enforced it before, they seem to be enforcing now that you can only book an ADR for the duration of your on-site reservation - the new system is far more integrated that way. It is possible that the new system doesn't understand linked ressies, etc. yet. Hopefully they'd fix that.

It has been posted previously that you would be able to make only ADRs for the first part of your stay at your 90 day mark for POR since there is a check-in and a check-out on the stay. And then at your 90 day mark for AKL you can make ADRs for that part of your stay. :thumbsup2

Hi,
What variation of the "free"dining plan is included in the current deal????
* RYI - Basic Dining Plan
* EEV - Deluxe Dining
* UXQ - Deluxe Dining with Wine and Dine

these 3 are the codes but what is the free one to get on the deal and what is the cost to upgrade?

Free is nice but what are we getting?I want to know if upgrading is needed or if I have another cost that I am unaware of

This morning when I was on the phone booking FD with my DV I asked the CM is she had any insight as to when they will be rolling out the new ADR system. She said, "They are working diligently on that right now, and it should be available in the next few weeks", she also said they it should definately be worked out by the time all of us Aug-Sept diners need to make our 90 day ADRs in May-June. Wonder how the new system will be.. :scared1: Only time will tell.. Let's hope for the best:wizard:!

The free dining is the basic which includes 1 table service, 1 counter service, and 1 snack per person night. The cost to upgrade to deluxe is $32 per person per night and includes 3 meals per person, per night, at either counter service or table service and 2 snacks each night also. You also get the refillable resort mug, woohoo, and both an appetizer and dessert are included with your meals, where only the dessert is included with the basic. It is definately ALOT of food, but we think its worth it, especially to have the flexibility to do alot of the dinner shows or table service meals that cost 2 credits per person.
We usually only do 3 or 4 sit down breakfasts, lunch everyday, then use the leftovers for nicer dinners. And will just have a small snack breakfast the other days. Works out well for us, but you'd have a run your own family situation

I had to change my ressie a couple of times and just this afternoon the CM(who seemed quite knowledgable) stated that as on onsite guest and the 100day ADR policy I could now make my ADR's on April 23rd. Every other CM had told me May 3rd. My dates did not change.:confused3
Anyone have any clue - did they institute a new policy? I think that would be an added perk.
TIA

My hunch is that you got a CM who is mis-interpretting the 90+10 rule. It's not 100 days from check-in, it's 90 days and then you can make up to 10 days of ADRs.

We must have had the same CM..when I booked my package mine told me the same thing...I just assumed he was misunderstanding the 90+10 rule (which is easy to do). Course this is the same CM who told me we each get 2 snacks a day on the regular dining plan...:sad2: which is also Not true (don't want to confuse anyone;))

Does anyone know how they get the date? All the other CM's said they would check and took a second before they said the 3rd. This one stated it was a 100 day onsite policy and said the 23rd very quickly.
He did have my ressie change in 5 minutes flat I was impressed by that.
Oh Well, I may try on the 23rd JIC but I won't get my hopes up.

Just got this message from our TA :

The idea is that eventually you will be able to make your dining online... not sure when that will be available. It was supposed to be available to us on March 23rd and, um, it wasn't, haha! :sad2::sad2::sad2:

I just had a strange experience with reservations. We are spending 8 nights at WDW spread among 3 Disney Resorts. The first resort is a one night stay at the Beach Club. I called 90 days from our check in at the Beach Club and I was told I could not make reservations beyond our next day check out even though we were moving to the Port Orleans and later to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Two days later I call again. When asked for our reservation I again give the one day stay at Beach Club. We were able to book a dinner show three days past the Beach Club check out date. However, the interesting part is I never told them about our moves to other resorts during our stay. Keep in mind each of our resort reservations were made separately and I do not see how they could be "linked" and the representative gave no indication of knowing about the other reservations. The only reservation they checked was the one night stay at the Beach Club. So based on the first call I was not eligible for the extended reservation time because my Beach Club stay was only one night and the dinner show was more than 90 days from the day I made the reservation. Arguably this reservation would have fallen within the time we are staying at Port Orleans and was eligible for the 90+10 reservation window. However, I then went on and made an additional dining reservation for a date near the end of our stay at WDW. Once again, there was never a problem and never a request for any information concerning our resort stays other than the initial one night stay at the Beach Club. This reservation would have been outside the 90 day reservation window for the Beach Club stay and the Port Orleans stay. Based on the first call I should not have been able to make this reservation until 90 days from our check in date at the Animal Kingdom Lodge which is still a couple days away. I then get transfered to recreation to make a horse back riding reservation. Result, sorry we can't help you, the 90 day window resets each time you move to a new resort. I am told I must call back in a couple days when it will be 90 days from the check in at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Disney has not clearly stated its policy on the 90+10 window for reservations and it seems the application of the policy is inconsistent. If Disney really values providing a good customer experience they need to clean this policy up.

What TIME does the dining line open in the morning? I think tomorrow's my day and I am ready to go just want to make sure I don't miss it! I thought it was 7am?

It is 7 A.M. eastern time. So adjust for wherever you're at.

Did you check your date with the dining calculator? Here on the wdwinfo.com board you can check youd date. It's under dining. Good luck.

Got a ? for you guys. I've booked a reservation and made my dining ressies. We're thinking of changing dates a bit and moving resorts to upgrade. Will they automatically cancel all our dining ressies when I cancel the resort ressie? Will they transfer them to my new resort reservation number if I just request that?

No they will not cancel your dining reservations. Your dining ressies are tied to the phone number you gave, not your hotel confirm number. They use the hotel confirm to verify that you're eligible for the 90+10 booking privelege for Disney hotel guests.

As an update.....the 90-day window for the first part of my stay opened today, and that's the way it worked -- I could only make reservations for that portion. I'll have to call back later for the rest.

They no longer put it under your phone number they now put it under your reservation number. When I called I verified my info, then they ask for reservation number but not the phone number any more. Unfortunatly, I don't know what they would do when you cancel and rebook with a different reservation number. I think I would call disney dining before rebooking and ask.

I have 3 different reservations and had to call back for each as they hit the 90 day mark as well. I was afraid to try booking more days into the 10 days because I fear they will cancel reservations made after the check out date.

There must be a way to do it without a reservation number though - not everyone who makes ADR's are staying on property. :confused3

Hello,

I have a couple questions. I apologize in advance if they have been covered. I have been reading alot of the posts , but there are so many!
First, I have an October WDW vacation planned. I can call in July for ADR's. What is the earliest time I can call that day to make the ADR's? Is this new automated online ADR booking a good thing? Will I have more of a chance getting my choice of restaurant? How long, if I call super early, do you expect I will wait on hold to talk with someone to make the reservations? Also, are most of you planning to use online, or see how it goes before making that jump? Thank you SO much. I really appreciate any and all info. Have a great day!
