ADR System Upgrade - History

I can't stand all this miscommunication.

Agreed! I check in on May 22 and have been patiently waiting until tomorrow (2/21) to call in for my reservations. Now I'm hearing that people checking in later than me are able to get their reservations up to May 25.

I'm on hold with dining now. Maybe I'll get that same agent who can book my ressies up to May 25 too!

We have been trying for 3 trips to get reservations for CRT. We are going to try again for August and were going to stay onsite and then decided it was best to stay on the Marriott points we have.

My question is will I be able to get breakfast CRT reservations with a 90 day window or should we stay at WDW for just one night and then transfer over to our other hotel for the remainder of the stay. Is it correct this would give us an extra 10 days out? My daughter is 4 and really wants to see the castle.

What would happen if we would cancel the room reservation at WDW? Would they cancel our dining reservations we made or would those stay intact.

THanks!princess:

When you hear the message about May 26th- June 1st, it will tell you to press 1. Do that, and you will be able to book. Now, you may only be able to do so up until the 25th, but later this afternoon, you can book thru the 1st.

If you don't press 1, then you will get a CM that will tell you, you have to wait 90 days out.
I was told that only certain reservationist are using the new system and are allowed to book until June 1st.

I just got off the phone with dining. This whole system aggravates me!!! We are staying May 22 - 28. They would not let us book yet, because our 90 days isn't until tomorrow. When I told her that some people were booking before their 90 days, she said it was because some agents aren't yet trained on the new 90 day policy, so some are slipping through the cracks.

The other thing that aggravates me is that when I call at 7 AM tomorrow, I will need to speak to 2 different agents. Which means I will probably end up on hold twice, therefore delaying my time with getting what I want for the second portion of my trip. I suppose everyone will be in that same boat, but it just seems to be a pain.

And, I had her check availability for Ohana on May 22 for a party of 4. Nothing available until 9:00 PM. But plenty of availability for a party of 6 or 8 or 2. Ugh! It's my husband's birthday and I really hope we can get it. Think I will just book 6 people and go from there.

I feel like Disney has trouble getting their act together. From the website, to the hours, and now, this whole dining thing. Us May people are getting the short end of the stick :)

Thank you! I am trying this now :)

I am finding this all very confusing.

We are checking in at SSR on 24th May therefore my 90 window is on 23rd Feb. I can then book my ADRs for the week.

Are you saying if I call now I may be able to get some of my ressies already?

I am concerned that I am going to have trouble getting some of them such as the Fantasmic Dinner Package and Le Cellier if others are able to book before the 90 day window.:confused3 We plan on adding the DDP so I really need to get these ADRs sorted.

No, it did not work for me. When I pressed 1, I was told the same thing. I was also told that anyone who has "slipped through the system" would have their reservations cancelled by the system. I honestly don't believe this. I think I got a disgruntled agent. I told him that this seemed unfair since many people might not know the 90 day thing. He said it didn't matter - that they should have been told by the agnet.

Then, I called again :) Tried the same thing.

I got another agent who immediately asked for my reservation number. She said that since I wasn't checking in until the 22nd, I couldn't book until tomorrow. Honestly, I think they should all be doing this.

I am just going to play fair and wait until tomorrow. Hopefully I will get the ones that I want if I call right at 7AM.

Hi,

You do not get to book an extra ten days early if staying on site.

The 90+10 rule means you can book 10 days of ADRs on your 90th day, rather than having to call back each day as you would have to do if staying offsite.

Best strategy is to call at 7AM sharp on the 90th day and if you get through, talk REALLY FAST!

I totally forgot about all the changes and called to make some ADR's two weeks ago for my upcoming June trip. Wrong!! I have to call back on March 22nd. :sad2:

Are the CRT reservations still 180 days or did they switch to 90? I just want to make sure, I am not sure if we are going to do an ADR here but just in case I don't want to miss my chance.

Thanks!

Call 90 days before you check in. Make your CRT reservation first.

IF it isn't available for some reason, call 90 days before you DINE at CRT. Disney holds tables to release at exactly 90 days so not everything is gobbled up for those staying onsite. (Or those who check in earlier than others)

Are you serious? That is not fair. He should not be telling people their ressies will be cancelled. And what did he mean, slipping through the system? They clearly told me and someone else, was it you? That some were trained for the new system, and THEIR computers would allow them to book. I mean if it wasn't what Disney wanted, then they should not have that message up. Do you agree?

Ok, I just called again and pressed 1 and I told the lady, who was nice by the way, that I booked this morning and thru the 25th and they told me to call back. She said, the system was not up yet (for the 26th-1st), and she could not tell me an exact time, but to call back and to call back around early afternoon.

You'll call 90 days prior to your check-in for your CRT reservation.

Everything is 90 days now.

The rules are very clear. You can call and make reservations 90 days prior to checking into your hotel. (staying onsite, 90 days prior to dining for those staying off site)

Those that are having issues today are trying to work around those rules and make reservations prior to their 90 day mark.

Those that have made their reservations today are victims of a CM or CMs who don't know what they're doing and made a mistake.

I am unsure if they can cancel the reservations that they made a mistake on, but if you are at more than 90 days right now (prior to your check in) you may want to call and confirm your ADR's at your 90 day mark.

Also, someone mentioned earlier that they ran into a disgruntled CM, and I can understand that a bit. I get pretty crabby with coworkers who make mistakes and then I am left with a bunch of extra work (bombarded with calls) because of their mistake. Now they shouldn't take it out on the guest, but I do understand their frustration.

Please don't take my post as being rude or disrepectful, because I'm not being that at all. :) I don't argue with people. I was just been trying to help her out and tell her what happen to me this morning and a few others. And we were just discussing the miscommunication since all the changes. I'm also very well aware of the rules and the changes.

If you call Disney Dining right now, you will hear a message, that tells you to press 1 for reservations for May 26th, until June 1st. Now, Disney is putting this message up. If they don't want us to make ressies for that time, then they should not have this message up. I don't get why this would be wrong and a mistake, if they have this message up, you know? That is just my opinion. :)

I was told, by three CM's this morning, that some CM's have been trained early on this new system and they are ALLOWED to make these ressies, using the new system.

Now with all that being said. I'm calling on Sunday (my 90 day mark) and giving them my ADR numbers to make sure they still have them and that they do not get cancelled.

I didn't take you as argumentitive at all and understand that you're coming from a helpful place.

I think that the confusion is because some reservations are still on the old system and some are on the new system. Anyone checking in on May 21 right now would be able to make 10 days of reservations, and some of those fall between May 26 and June 1.

I think that this will continue to be a point of confusion for guests and CM's alike until we're 90 days from May 26 (which is February 25) Once we hit that point it sounds like everything will be on the same system.

I agree, double checking your ADR's is wise. You'll likely be fine, but it's not a bad idea to be sure.

I'm glad you didn't take what I posted as being argumentitive. Sometimes it's so hard to figure out how people are coming across over the computer. :)

I agree with you, it boils down to confusion all the way around...lol Once all the bugs are worked out, with the new system, it's going to all good. :)

I'm going to call on Sunday, just to be on the safe side.
