Is it necessary to make adr at exactly the 180 day mark with the dining plan Disney now has?

I know I need to do this if we want to go to CRT, but what about the following: Princess breakfast in Norway, GF dinner with Cindy and friends, Crystal Palace for either dinner or breakfast, Rainforest Cafe, 50's prime time cafe.

Thanks for any help. :goodvibes

I don't know about any of the places you named in your post, but I just booked 'Ohana character breakfast this morning for my trip in May.

I would make the ADR's at the 180 mark anyway, and then make any changes to your ADR's as needed. This is what I did and am still doing.

I think a lot depends on the time of year you'll be going. If it's going to be one of those huge crowd times, then yes, you should make those ADRs asap. I'm going in mid-May and made my ADRs about 3 weeks ago. I got all the times/places I needed, but this isn't a heavy duty time of year to go.

We're going first week of April, spring break, so I expect it to be pretty crowded. I made most of our ADR's in mid-January and didn't have any problems, even with a large group of people. One of the ADR's I made was for the princess breakfast in Norway.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to try for CP breakfast on Sat. April 1, and lunch on the 2nd at 50's PT. Got those for the times I wanted too.

I'm going to call and try to change our breakfast ADR at Boatwright's to a different time, so hopefully I'll get that too.

Good luck, you shouldn't have any problems.

We just decided to take a trip to Disney mid-June. We got all of our choices (on the days/approximate times) we wanted for dining including: Crystal Palace breakfast, 1900 Park Fare dinner (Cindy and friends), Ohana's dinner, and Le Cellier lunch. I was really surprised. I guess a lot of people dont realize you can now book 180 days out, and some are still probably deciding on their vacations. I would book as soon as possible and then you can always change later.

I also took a trip last August and was able to book PSB Breakfast about 2 months out (during the free dining promotion); however, I did not have my choice of times. Good luck!

We went to MK Apr 05 and the restaurants were turning party's of 2 away for the night. I would make my ressie, I would not go empty handed at any time or year. You can always change your mind even at member services at the front gate. When we are going as a party of 9 I try to make my ADR's the day we decide to make the trip. It can be difficult to get a table together.

Any with princess, you realllllly do want to book as far out as possible..the longer you wait the more booked up it will be.The others don't book up AS quickly, but still need to be booked atleast a month or 2 in advance.

I haven't noticed any difference since the Dining Plan started. I've been making ADR's/PS for the past several years every time we go and it's been pretty easy to get what I've wanted.

Most of the time we go during more off-peak times so if it's a busy time you're going, the sooner you make them the better. And, for the more popular ones, like PSB & 1900 Pk Fare. Make them as soon as you have an idea of when you want to go. They tend to book up a little quicker as they always have before. PSB was a tough one before they added the lunch, not sure about now as we don't go anymore. Never cared for it.

I think more places are filling up...maybe not at 180 days out but even for last minute - it's getting extremely hard to get into certain places.

We're going in June, and we waited until mid-January to make our ADRs and got the ones we wanted when we wanted. It does all depend upon timing. For the record, we got PSB, Brown Derby Fantasmic pkg, GF dinner with Cindy and friends, Le Cellier, and Artist Point. I wouldn't sweat too much missing the 180-day mark, but neither would I wait until just a few weeks out as you might have slim pickings. Good luck! paw:

I think that for most places 4 weeks out is probably still a safe time frame. Any less and you may not get the times you want. This will vary with the more popular times when the parks actually close due to attendance though.
