we're planning on taking a stroll over to the beach club after illuminations one night for an ice cream treat at beaches and cream. is that something we'd need an ADR for?

They don't take ADR's. They certainly have great ice cream!

Beaches & Cream does not take ADRs, but if you plan to go there after illuminations try to get there as soon as you can. There is a good chance you will not be the only one with the idea and there will be a wait. But trust me the wait is worth it, the food and ice cream are great, it really is a treat.

i would think it's a quick walk, right?

If you are wanting to go to B&C right after Illuminations, I recommend (wind permitting) that you watch from the bridge between UK and France. That puts you right at the entrance to International Gateway. It's not really a good sitting spot, but it's a good standing spot.

Also, if you don't mind sitting at the counter, sometimes you can get in faster. There is also a take out line if you only want ice cream (although that gets busy too). Since B&C is open until 11pm, and most of the other restaurants close earlier, it really draws a crowd when Epcot closes.

thanks for the tips! does the walkway from the beach club run to the entrance of epcot or to the international gateway? i've never walked there before....only taken bus or monorail. so i'm not familiar with where it puts you out at epcot.

Since they don't take ADR's, when is the best time of day to try going? We are also just looking to mainly go for the ice cream... my husband saw the kitchen sink on a travel channel show we taped and said he HAS to have it!! So now I'm trying to see where in our itinerary we can sneak over and get one! Thanks!!

The walkway from Beach Club goes directly to the International Gateway -- the back entrance to Epcot -- you enter in the World Showcase between UK (straight ahead) and France (to the right, over the bridge).

thanks so much for everyone's tips and help! i'm glad the walkway goes directly to the international gateway.....i don't want to have to fight the crowds heading toward the main exit after illuminations!

it seems i've seen a website that has walking times (with pictures) around disney world. anyone know what i'm talking about?

We did this when we were there in June, my ILs met up with us in the middle of our stay, and the night they arrived we went there. The wait to get a seat inside was over 2 hours long :scared1: So we went to the take out line and just sat outside at one of the tables there.

Hi,

Just wanted to jump in to say that if you are planning to go to B&C right after Illuminations, it really doesn't matter where you stand, because several hundred of your new closest friends will have the same idea!

If you want their ice cream I'd suggest going in the mid-afternoon if possible. We have found the best time to go is right when they open at 11. It's about the only time we've never had to wait for a table. B&C is tiny and the tables fill up very fast.

I also want to point out that they only offer hot fudge at the take out counter, none of the other toppings. I was very dissapointed to discover that change.

well, let me just tell you our potential plans for that evening and you can tell me when the best time would be to go there. we're going to play mini golf at fantasia gardens sometime in the afternoon, then we have a 6:10 spoodles ADR, then walk (or boat) to epcot for illuminations. do you see a better time in there that we could do it? i'm definitely open to suggestions! i've never been to the boardwalk/beach club area before so i don't know how spread out everything is and how long it takes. thanks!

My recommendation would be to go to Beaches & Cream for an early lunch right at 11, eat, enjoy both the food & the ice cream. Then, stroll the hotel a little, etc, then take the boat from the Beach Club to the Swan & Dolphin. From there, walk through the hotel to the parking lot entrance. Fantasia Gardens is across the street from there. That way, you'll get in everything, and still enjoy it! Oh, & while you're at the Beach Club, take the time (perhaps while you're digesting your B&C yummy meal) to talk to Art, the Greeter at the Beach Club. He is a WONDERFUL man who you will VERY much enjoy talking to!

Enjoy the Magic!

Do you think you will have room for ice cream after dinner? We like to get an ice cream and then go to see Illuminations.

If you do walk over to BC, when you leave Epcot, there is a path along the water that goes to BC. It rejoins the main path after the hill(nice stroll along the water and no big hill:thumbsup2 ).

Before your mini golf could be good too. Non-peak times for meals and non-park closing times are the easiest to get in

we'll be at MK that morning so we can't go to B&C before around 3:00. i may move my spoodles ADR to like 6:45 and that way we can fit B&C in before mini golf at fantasia gardens.

two more questions:

1. how long does the mini golf course take? and i'm talking about the easier one, not the difficult one.

2. if we change our spoodles ADR to 6:45 do you think we'll make it to epcot in time for illuminations? this will be a first illuminations for us (we skipped it on the first trip) and i'm not sure how crowded it gets. we will be going on a wed. night in late april.

just bumping in hopes of an answer to those last questions. then i promise i'll shut up!

Spoodles at 6:45 should give you plenty of time to make it back for Illuminations.
