HI group,

My husband and I are renting DVC points for our family trip to WDW. The question we have is, since the DVC reservation cannot be accessed by us, how does making ADRs work. We are are having the DDP booked by the DVC member, but want to make sure we will not encounter any problems when we try to make the ADRs ourselves. Our girls are 7 &5 princess:and the princess meals are extremely important as you can imagine.

What is the process? :thanks:

I know this is a bit of an obscure question, I'm sure there is someone out there who knows the answer. :thumbsup2

As long as you have your confirmation number for your resort stay (even if renting) you should have no problem booking your ADRs. Us DVC members book our meal ADRs exactly like everyone else. As long as you log into the dining site and then enter your reservation number, it should come up. If you have problems online, most likely it's your phone number tied to your reservation number. If this happens that you might want to call to make your dining ADRs through the regular dining number. We can call members' services toll free, but not until 9:00 and only members can use this number. I have booked my ADRs online with the new system many times now with no problems! Good luck. I would log onto the online dining beforehand and enter your infomation just to see if it works.

Hi n2mm

My wife is from West Virginia. We live in Canada now but anyway, Thanks for the response. So when you book your meals on the phone as a DVCer do you use a different phone number then the regular Disney ADR phone number? I also thought about doing it online like you said as well, I just thought maybe we would rather call, but maybe online is the way to go.
But do you use a different number for DVC ADR's. Reading your post again, I don't think that is what you meant anyway. Thanks

As a renter, you can book your ADRs through the regular dining line (407-WDINE).

Members also have the option of calling DVC Member Services to make their reservations. You would not be able to do that, but it doesn't give you any advantage when making reservations anyway. Most members probably use the WDWDINE number.

So there is no problem with a non DVC member who is renting points making ADR's on the regular 407 WDW DINE phone number as long as you have a reservation number, is that right?

Correct. Alot of us DVC members call the wdw-dine number because they open at 7:00AM and members' services open at 9:00AM and we all know those 2 hours can make or break whether you get those hard ADRs. I would try logging online on the dine website and entering your information to see if it recognizes your reservation number now.

I am now trying to book an ADR online and it's saying that there is a high volume of users currently and it is asking me to try later. However I did try last night as well and I went pretty far into the reservation process and it still had not asked for my reservation number. I was kind of afraid it was going to book it for real and I stopped. It seamed I already had the time and restaurant booked and then it was asking for my phone number which you mentioned earlier and I thought I better quit. So if I go on again and try when the volume of users is down how far do you go into the process before it asks for your reservation number? And if I input the number in will it just say I cannot book because I have yet to hit the 90 day mark? I was trying for a date that was within 90 days so it would work but when the reservation number shows different dates will it just say cannot be booked, and if this happens will I know if it is going to work when the 90 day mark really comes? I know this is a crazy amount of questions. This Disney planning is intense!:rotfl:

First go to the disney dining website and LOG IN. That is the first step. Now it will recognize you. Choose a restaurant and click on it. Scroll down and you'll see this:

Update Your Profile
Are you an Annual Passholder and/or Florida Resident? If so, please add this information to your account profile so we can tailor your dining search.
Retrieve Your Resort Reservation
Do you have a Resort reservation for the same days for which you're making dining reservations?
If so, please retrieve your reservation

Click on the blue "retieve your reservation" and it gives you a screen to type in your reservation number and phone number (often it will only recognize one number, sometimes it's my home and sometimes its my cell--once it was my daughter's number). If it does not match up to the reservation number, you will not be able to do the 90+10 online.

After that and if it's accepted, your window of dates will open 90 days from your arrival, plus an additional 10 days will open for booking too.

I feel kind of silly but what exacty is the Disney dining website you are referring to? The one I have been using is the one on the WDW website and when I pick a restaurant from the list and click the Book a Reservation tab it takes me to a screen that asks me to enter my dates time and dining party numbers. Nothing about updating my profile. And this is also after I have logged in. I don't know what is going on?:confused3

OK. I went on again and went through the process of making a reservation and I ended up actually booking one which I went back and canceled. The thing is it pulled up my confirmation number by itself with my phone number. Problem is it pulled up a reservation number that we have for a one night stay that we added on ourselves to the beginning of our DVC stay. The weird thing is I was able to book the time completely but we don't even have dining added on our one night stay and the dates I entered for dining does not match our room reservation?

I'm really sorry to bog you down with this mess of mine. We will just have to call to make the reservations I guess and hopefully there will not be any problems. Thank you

This October will be three times that we've stayed at WDW on rented points and had the DDP. The owner I rent from gives me the confirmation from Disney as soon as she receives it. That's all I need to make my ADRs at the 90+10 days from arrival. I was able to pull up my ressie online and make all of my ADRs (except the Fantasmic! Dinner Package) online. It doesn't make a difference if you are a DVC member or not when making dining ressies.
