I am making my ADR's, and some of the times that come up are the same time that the park closes. How does this work?

Hello and welcome.

It is simple, just because the park closes many people hang around to shop or dine.
So many times you will see available adrs for or around closing.

There also isn't anything to worry about if using WDW transportation. The buses easily run an hour or more past closing and in the event that you are the LAST person out the gate...(so unlikely you are better to win the lotto), a CM will call for a way to get you back to your resort.

So no worries. If that is the time you want....take it and enjoy!!

We took a late reservation at AK Yak and Yeti this past trip, and when we got out nearly an hour past park closing there were still a ton of people milling around the park, it was nice though to get some photos with minimal interuptions before walking out to the buses.

We try to get at least one or two in park ADRs at, or very near close during our trips.
It adds a different wrinkle to the trip, and some of our fondest memories are of those times.
On the other hand, don't get stuck at a different resort than yours too late at night. ( NOT one of our fondest memories!)

When my girlfriend and I eat dinner in the parks, we try to make it for as late as we can. We know that a 6:30 or 7 ADR will be more valuable to a family of 4. We tend to feel that the restaurants are a bit more relaxed the later the night is and the wait staff is happier the night is almost over. Walking from the restaurant to the gate is a great experience that we actually like better than pre-RD ADR's. You do not get rushed out of the park and can take your time walking. We have never had an issue getting transportation back to our resort.

What happened there? We never had an issue getting from resort to resort late at night. It's a bit of traveling if using Disney transportation (having to go from resort to DTD to resort) but we never had an issue.
