ADR at "the second worst restaurant at WDW"

After watching "the five worst restaurants at Walt Disney World" today I'm frightened about one of my ADRs. I have a reservation at Yak and Yeti. I've never eaten there before. I also realize the ymmv, but I don't want to use a table credit (yes, I got the DDP) for food I might hate.
Should I just leave my ADR as it is, Dinner on Saturday Sept 10 or should I find another place to eat?
I was thinking of getting the seared Miso Salmon.
All input welcome.
Many folks love this place and wouldn't miss it, including me!

We are trying it for the first time in August and are super excited about it! Lots of good choices on the menu! Can't wait

Totally agree with posters here about everyone having a different view of restaurants...Our only disappointed meal at Disney in six vacations was the beloved Le Cellier...Keep your ADR reservation..

I'll say like I've always said, take any reviews with a grain of salt, not everybody likes the same thing and not everyone has a great server all the time. Personally, our probably not return to place is Garden Grill, gets good reviews but we thought the food was meh. Our opinion. Years ago there was a post on here I remember because the poster said their family didn't like German food so should they go to Biergarten to eat to see the show? So how do you think their review of the food would be? I would keep the ADR and go and make your own decision. :)

Food is subjective and those *worst meal* type shows and articles are misleading as best.

I never had a bad meal at WDW, some were better then others. Some restaurants we will likely not return to because we did not care for the meal and overall theming etc. There are so many good and great restaurants, no need to worry about the very few we did not care for.

I got a mention on the DIS daily fix! Thanks for responding to me directly Pete. Your brother from another mother. :)

We ate at Y&Y as our "Last Meal" before heading back to our resort and the Magical Express last November and we have been thinking about it ever since. We liked it so much, we booked it twice for our upcoming Nov. trip. It's a great in-park restaurant. We really liked hanging out in the lounge area.

As everybody is saying, you have to try it for yourself to know if you will be with the, rather strong, majority on this thread, or with Pete and Ryno.

But 2 thumbs up from me.

I've eaten there once (granted, about 6 years ago) and liked it very much. The wonton dessert is fantastic! Why not give it a try for yourself?

We LOVE Yak and Yeti.

I have a close friend who lives in Orlando and is an AP. He actually turned us on to it. We love slipping in early and snagging a seat at the bar and then ordering the app sampler and a tall fruit drink before riding Everest :))

Realize that many people who write reviews do so because they have an axe to grind. When their experience is great, it's because they're so good at finding the good places. When it's not great, it's someone else's fault, and the world needs to know.

Our one BAD meal at WDW was at a signature restaurant that everyone adores. Different people have different experiences at different times; I give practically no credence to reviews.

For what it's worth, we really love Y&Y. We've never had a bad meal there. We particularly love lunch, as it gives us a break from the oppressive heat of AK.

I went to Yak and Yeti for the first time last July. I had steered clear on previous trips due to mixed reviews. We really liked it. It tasted fresh with plenty of vegetables. It may not suit those who prefer more typical Chinese takeaway options. I will be coming to it soon in my trip report. Anyway I wouldn't cancel. I'm not doing much in the way of Disney dining next month but I've an ADR for Yak and Yeti on our wedding anniversary.

We went there last August. It was one of my favorite meals. I got the honey chicken and my BF got the chicken tikka masala (more of an Indian dish). The dessert we got was fried wontons and it was my favorite of our whole trip. Like Pete said make your own opinion. We like to try a new restaurant each time we go.

Would you mind sharing that Signature? Just curious because I'm trying to decide between Citricos and Flying Fish.

I was really surprised that Yak & Yeti made the list. I would think there was something worse than that at WDW. I have never heard anything good about 1900 Park Fare. Actually I never really hear anything much at all! There's also a few bad ones in DS.

Believe it or not, it was the Brown Derby. My husband got sick, I was VERRY Queasy all night, my daughter's food went uneaten and the chef argued with my 26 year old niece that she could NOT be having an allergic reaction to the food she had eaten-- he pretty much picked a fight with her when she didn't eat her meal, and she left in tears.

I know that it's a universally loved restaurant. But we must have hit them on a Very bad night, and we won't be returning.

Wow, this is great. So many responses. I'm keeping the ADR and I'll post my own review when I get back. I wonder if I could guest host one of the DDFs as Pete's long lost brother? :)

See, I've read more bad or lukewarm reviews of Brown Derby than good.
