ADR and AAA booked packages

Ok - this sounded a little weird to me but I put a call into disney (407-939-7675 - not sure if that is CRM or what) - but was asking about their new ADR of 90 days for resort guests. She said she couldn't pull up my reservation that I made through AAA but that I could still do the ADR of 90 days (she offered to send me to the ADR folks).

However, I thought that the ADR had to confirm your reservation before allowing you to book 90 days in advance. With this in mind, how can ADR confirm my reservation when Disney reps are telling me they can't look it up in their system?
:bounce:

I did my ADR's with a AAA package. I called AAA and got the Disney ressie # from them. The CM I spoke to in Dining said if I gave them the # and told them it was a AAA package that even if they couldn't pull it up that they most likely wouldn't argue with me. I called on July 18 (first day of the new system) and they let me make my ADR's for my whole trip. I had actually already made one because by July 18 we were 88 days out.

I have read the info about travel agent bookings, and the thing is, my AAA agent SPECIFICALLY told me I have to make my own ressies for dining. That is NOT part of the service AAA offers, so for Disney to say the agent has to call is stupid.

As long as you have the Disney ressie # from AAA you should be fine.

What number on your AAA booked package is the disney reservation number? I called my AAA agent and she told me the only number she has is the confirmation no. which is a 8 digit number. A CM told me it should be R and 7 digits ?? The AAA agent told me she could book the ressies but my day to book is a Sunday when AAA is not open. Has anyone else had this problem with disney?

My AAA agent offered to do them for me and did get several for another DIS'er! Seems AAA is as confused about their own services as Disney.

I had no problem making mine, but that was prior to the 90+10 thing, so I don't know how it would work now.

Yup, my AAA agent got some ressies for me. A shoutout to pjupton for getting some other ARs for me, too :-) FWIW, I also called CRO directly to get ressies when the 90-day-out date was on a weekend, and also when I called to confirm my laundry-list of ARs (there are quite a few with a group of 9 or 13 and various dining combinations!).

The same AAA agent has kindly created a master dining list for all my ARs, regardless of who made the ressie, so that I have everything in one place.

Having an experienced TA* make the bulk of my ARs was a major reason I bought the AAA membership, though I think the membership has paid for itself with the massive amount of maps and TourBooks we've accumulated for our 2800mi round trip drive!!

(okay, so I guess I'd actually say that our TA is experienced-with-Disney, having been a CM, but not necessarily an experiencedTA IYKWIM. I get the feeling she's still learning the ropes wrt travel agency work, but she does have a lot of knowledge for the average traveller about the Disney parks. I guess all my lurking and posting to RAPD and DISboards don't make me the average traveller, though....in terms of the massive amount of Disney info I've been exposed to over the years!)

I have booked our trip through AAA for the 2nd time and haven't had a problem getting ADR (or PS's or whatever we call them now). I just call the 1-407-WDW-DINE (939-3463) and make my reservations. They can use either your confirmation number or they ask your name and phone number. You must give them the name and number that the trip is booked under. Like our trip is 4 women, 2 rooms but 1 room is under my name so that is the info. I give when I call. I've never had a problem or had them tell me that my TA had to call.

Our AAA agent also volunteered to make our ADR's as well, though I did most of them. She also booked PFTS for us and made several calls to Disney Dining for us to clarify questions we had about our ressies.

OK, well I OBVIOUSLY ended up with the short end of the AAA stick! :rotfl:

When I called to ask AAA if they could confirm the 90+10 rumor before it went into effect they said they would have no knowledge of that because they "don't deal with that". They didn't even seem particularly interested in me calling back to tell them if it was true or not so they could tell other clients! The agent also said she couldn't help with my Illuminations ressie. At this point I have decided the way to go is to do everything I possibly can BY MYSELF. And there better not be a single mistake on my package because that is the ONLY aspect she has had to handle! (In all fairness, this is NOT the agent I started with. The original agent quit and this is the girl I was assigned to afterwards.)

Overall I have not been the least bit impressed with the quality of service our family has gotten from AAA - glad to see other folks are having better luck!

The number AAA gave me is an 8 digit # that was not listed on any of the paperwork from AAA. CRO can't access the ressie, but they MIGHT be able to see that one exists. Not sure how that works, exactly. Travel agent ressies are coded differently - ressies through Disney are the R/7 digit ones. Good luck to anyone trying to figure this out if your AAA agent is as UNhelpful as ours! (OK, she did manage to give me the Disney confirmation # and Disney chose not to quibble with me over it, so that was one good thing!)
