Our update is we are now added to the sibling list so we may be returning with 2 instead of 1!!!!

I don't post often but we just finalized the adoption of our second foster child.![]()

Wow, a lot has been going on with so many of you! Congratulations to those who are moving along in the process.
ALDF, have a great time in WDW with Madeline.
Freaky, I hope the 6th time is the charm for you!
You said this was your 6th agency. I hope that's the one that gives you access to your child.6th time?? not sure what you mean

Ha! I was wondering why they were on their 6th agency. I thought they were still in the process of interviewing agencies.I think she meant she is now number 6 on the waitlist that her agancy has. So, she is 6th in line for a child. LOL! I read it the way you did too, for some reason. OOps!
Wow! Lots of good news around here! Thanks for bumping this bean!![]()
We're going the fost/adopt route!!
We took PRIDE last year but had to delay turning in our application, for financial reasons. Now we have the ball rolling again.
We had our first meet with the SW, 2 weeks ago. She came to our house because she was going to be in the neighborhood. Yikes!! I spent a week cleaning. LOL!!!
We got our first aid cert. last week! Our first Bridge Builders class was last weekend, Foster license workshop was Wed., then CPR and last Bridge Builders are 12/6 & 12/13. All we'll need then is our med. clearance, individual interviews and home inspection. Oh, and of course, we need to get the house ready. LOL!
We are hoping to adopt one or two, under the age of 5. We specified girls, since we only have 1 room, but we are wondering if we should open up our preferences.
Hopefully, we'll be in the hopper for matching by Feb.![]()
Last night we went to Mervyn's and bought kids clothes, for the first time ever! It's good to have different sizes on hand since you never know what the foster kids will have when they come to you. It was strange but cool to do that and put them in the room. We just cleaned out the room that has been storage for 13 years, so it's starting to seem real!
That's exciting!! My Partner and I are going the foster/adopt route as well. We're just doing the waiting game. We've had all of the classes, and she's licensed (we'd both like to be, but since we're same sex, only one of us can be).
I know exactly what you mean about buying kid stuff. We haven't really bought a whole bunch of kid stuff, but we're collecting second-hand stuff from friends and family. We've got a baby crib, a twin size bed, an infant car seat, 2 swings, a bunch of bottles, some toys, and a WHOLE BUNCH of clothes. But we still don't feel prepared. We don't want to pour too much money into buying a whole bunch of stuff, so we figured we'd wait on the rest of the stuff to see what we need. But it was a LOT of fun going through all of the hand-me-down clothes and seperating the sizes and gender.![]()
Now we just can't wait to get a placement.![]()
Good luck on yours!![]()
Sooooo much to think about! I think it's a little easier to prepare when you are giving birth because you know you're starting with a newborn. LOL! It's tough to get ready, without breaking the bank, when you go the f/a route.
As it should be.You just need to be able provide a safe, stable home.

WE got our referral call on Tuesday afternoon.. We have a beautiful 6 month old little boy in Ethiopia. We should be traveling in 3-5 months to bring him home.![]()
