Adopting a soldier for Christmas?

Last year, there were some threads about adopting a soldier and sending a care package for Christmas.

Any info this year?

You can adopt a soldier at anytime of the year.....not just holidays. Do a search. You will come up with many threads containing info on websites who participate in such programs. Just keep in mind if you are only doing this for christmas, you will need to hurry. The deadline for mailing things overseas will be here in a few weeks.

and I believe the news said last night that this week was the deadline to get Christmas packages out to troops overseas so we all better hurry!

actually, if you want to adopt a soldier and send care packages, do it doing the year not around holidays. All the any soldier mail slows down the mail from soldiers' familes. Mail took a month when in the summer and longer in the winter. The larger the pacakge the slower the journey. Look up your local reserve or guard unit and help out with their family support program instead.
