I must really be an oddball, as I don’t like the taste of alcohol at all. Every beer I have tried tastes like vomit, wine tastes like spoiled food, and hard spirits leave me with a metallic aftertaste that is disgusting and impossible to get rid of. About once every 10-15 years I taste something to see if my palate has changed, but so far, I still hate it all.
Not odd at all! You just don't like it, nothing wrong with that! Consider yourself lucky because you have saved SO MUCH money!! AND it's healthier! 👍If someone could tally my alcohol bill from when I started drinking up 'til now....oh deeearrrr lorrrtt! I don't even wanna know!! 😂🤪 Pretty sure I can buy a new car with it....LOL!!

Definitely not the same, but DSis and I got worried about my parents the other night because Mom hadn't answered her phone all day. Totally out of ordinary. We assumed they had gotten run over at Harris Teeter or something.

I decided to call one more time. A man with a thick southern accent answers. Note: my Dad is definitely a Midwesterner. Without thinking I say, "Mom....I mean, Dad???" Dude was like who IS this?

Duh, obviously I had the wrong number, but who did he think I was? Lol and who answers unknown numbers!
LOL!!! Wait...I'm pretty baffled....how did you dial your mom's phone # wrong?!?! :scratchin🤔
Apparently a lot of people! I always wonder the same thing....why don't you just let it go to VM? If it's important enough they will leave you a message!

Do you guys think it will be insanely busy the Sat and Sun after Thanksgiving at UO and/or Sea World? I know John is braving it.

Right now we are in St. Augustine Fri-Sun with a 1/2 day at SW on Sun before RIV check-in. Trying to decide if we should just drive from my parents in NC direct to Orlando on Fri and stay at UO until Disney check in.

If crowds will be nutso like I picture, we will prob keep as is.

The crowds are always busier around holidays as that’s usually when everyone has the time off from school & work.

Are you talking about December 1-2? Those are both Orlando Informer meetup dates. I went on the night of a meetup in February and I found the parks to be NUTS at around 4-5 pm when their meetup ticket lets them into the parks.

No Nov 24-26

I've been busy with Easter stuff this morning so didn't open the thread til 10:30(pacific) and had 5 pages to catch up on! This place is hoppin today! (See want I did there? Lol).
Didn't take John too long to find the naughty corner this morning I see 🤨😂
Pub/cheap scampi is just fish mush. I would avoid unless you go somewhere nicer, when you may get langoustine or prawn.
Oh my, you make it sound so appealing 😂😂😂 fish mush OMG 😂😂😂 We will be in the UK in August, I'll try and stay away from the mush ;)

From what TP said about last year, Disney wasn't terribly busy. Busy, but not Christmas or spring break bad. UO seemed to be quite busy that weekend.

Can we chat about Universal Orlando? So DH and I were thinking that, one of these Orlando trips we will actually stay at a UO resort for a 3-4 days, go to the parks and also check out Volcano Bay. We have never been to Volcano Bay but looks fun? Has anyone stayed at one of the UO deluxe resorts? I want to try it out especially one of the perks is the unlimited express pass. Is it worth it? Or is it better just tag on the express pass for the day?

:thanks:
We stayed last year split stay with Universal (then moved to a Hilton-branded for Disney portion).

So we stayed 2 nights at Endless Summer Surfside (1 non-park day, 1 park day) and 1 night at Royal Pacific (to get EP). The Royal Pacific was expensive for the 1 night (it was a time where there wasn't really many discounts being put out and it was rack rate that we paid) but the EP for 2 days (because you get EP check in thru check out date).

So best thing IMO to do is price out how much the Unlimited EP is going to cost you. Remember that for the Premier hotels the EP is for all the people staying in the room so if you're pricing out EP separately make sure to account for each person you'd need it for. Most times though not 100% of the times the Premier hotel is going to be financially worth it.

We had 3 days at USO and 1 day of that was without EP being at Endless Summer and 2 days with EP.

Royal Pacific has a nice walking path to the parks that is closest to IOA or you can take the boat that drops you off closer to the Studios. Rooms are nice, we didn't really utilize much of the amenities other than we did get a reservation within 15 mins for Jake's American Bar (resort guests do get some priority there, I think they just block off some reservations for them).

Royal Pacific tends to be the cheapest (this is relatively speaking lol) of the Premier hotels so you'll probably see that one mentioned the most.

One thing to note our stay at Endless Summer was great. Their bus service is so good and very quick. So don't just think a Value there means bad service.

My husband and I talked that we'd do a split stay again in a heartbeat and it was lovely having the EP that's for sure even in a slower crowd day it was just nice to have it

I was going to ask you about this in our fun thread! I have always tempted to plan a WDW/UO trip around that time so we have a couple of free vacation days. I would fly out on Thanksgiving because no one really likes to fly on the actual holiday. Then just chill at the resort and do some non-parks stuff until Sun/Mon. But I always wonder how busy are the parks the week after turkey day? 🤔

I don't have time ... I need to pack for my trip to Puerto Rico followed by a repositioning cruise to NYC. When I get back though ...
We have to pack today and there's both an excitement level into packing but also a dreading as in "why do I have so much stuff" plus my husband never thinks about the joint things we'll need like I do..you know like sunscreen, aloe vera, toothpaste which we usually share for trips, then there's things like band-aids, the portable charges (that I'm always ensuring are charged before we go), etc.

I'm odd because I don't use contacts to call her and just dial. I really was worried and fat fingered it on the last number. 😁
Okay so my husband's family does that a lot or did that a lot..hmm..now I need to pay attention in the future. I thought it was so strange when I first saw them do it so you're odd but maybe not too odd lol

I've always heard that the first week of Dec is busy at WDW because of so many DVC members visiting. I think it's still the slowest (not that slow even exists) holiday week.

My husband is in charge of all the cables, chargers etc when we go away but yeah, he never thinks to ask "do we have enough sunscreen, etc." Not on their minds I guess 😂
I hope you have a fabulous trip and with any luck, that silly emuster thread from the DCL forum will be closed before you get back 🤨 honestly, people are just freaking out over there on that one 🤣
