Awww Happy 29th "ears" Anniversary!🥰 There's nothing close to V&A at DL...Hmmm you might have to go outside of DL to have this celebration dinner. There are some steakhouses and nice restaurants near DL on Harbour Blvd, but they are mostly chained restaurants, so not sure if that's something you are looking for? If you're willing to drive, just go down to OC area like Newport, a lot more options there.
Thank you. Also good ideas, LA is one of my business trip destinations, so I am a lot more familiar with that area than around Anaheim. I think we are just going to stay in the "bubble" for this trip. Personally, if we weren't doing this DL excursion, we offered the bride (our niece)/groom a week in Napa Valley as a mini-moon as they are delaying their own honeymoon until after they move from Portland to Charlottesville later this year.

lol it sure is this season is number 44 if you can believe it!
Many of us who worked at CBS affiliates when it went on the air can't believe it ever. When it went on the air in 2000 I sure didn't think it would be around long. My scripts on any stories on the show almost always included the line..."and once again Jeff Probst was not voted off the Island"

Do you mind having another niece?! I can be up for adoption!!!😂🤣 That's very kind and generous of you guys! A week in Napa would be AH-MAAAAAY-ZINNNG!! We used to live 30-40 mins away from Napa and I didn't realize how good I had it until we moved away!! 😭

Forgot about Lamplight - Napa Rose worth it? We are staying at the Grand Californian

YES, if you can get it. I've been trying to book a celebration dinner there for like 2 months.

If you get in, get a Kate & Ella cocktail. Trust me.

Our favorites are Blue Bayou

love blue bayou-always was a must do when we went to disneyland. i was so jealous of family who lived in southern california b/c back in the 70's you could order food from park restaurants and they would leave your name at the front gate so you could enter free to pick it up-had an aunt and cousin who frequently did blue bayou to go. so many of the places that i remember enjoying as a kid are long gone-frito lay place (pretty good mexican food), aunt jemima's pancake house for mickey shaped pancakes, and a quick snack at the chicken of the sea pirate ship.

i honestly miss the much more laid back disneyland of my youth-it was more relaxing and laid back. i liked the characters wandering around the parks and interacting with guests, i miss the great big disneyland sign that was in the parking lot, i miss that the first 'ride' we got on was always the little shuttles in the massive parking lot that was still surrounded by farming fields.

Haha - we have two nieces and a nephew - having no kids ourselves - they are as close as we have. Appreciate the compliment but I have to say ... my first trip to Napa was in October of last year for an event I was planning and I was completely taken by it as was my wife - so our "offer" was a little more self-serving lol. Surprisingly, the wife started looking at real-estate shortly after our last trip in December - which was a little alarming!

That's so cool! I keep hearing her show has been nothing but amazing!! 3 hrs, 40+ songs!! May I ask how much for Tay Tay's VIP package??
The seats were $600 each I got 4, my two girls and my son’s girlfriend and her mom are going. They are all way bigger fans than I am. It was the Wild West trying to get tickets added to the cart that would actually stick, it was a you get what you get situation. At one point I had floor seats at $2000 a piece show up as available but I’m glad they didn’t get those as it’s so much harder to see and my son’s girlfriend is petite. They have good seats in the lower bowl about mid stage (she has a really long stage set up). I believe they held back the highs cost seats for the capital one presale vs the verified fan one the day before. Since it’s in Tampa my husband and I are going to Berns steakhouse after we drop them at the stadium and we will pick them up when they are done. It’s a win-win for everyone as that’s our favorite restaurant ever!!

i was born and raised there-it's sooooooooooooooo different from the place i grew up in but i hear they are going to have a bumper crop of poppies in the area this year.

Love those descriptions and nostalgia ... we are pretty excited about seeing it all for the first time. I have only seen the park from a train back in the 90s - I was on a murder mystery dinner that started on the train in Pasadena and ended in San Juan Capistrano at a restaurant where the ceiling opened up ...

It was amazing ... the actors were so incredible ... probably the most involved and immersive experience as it involved actions on the train, in the town, and at the restaurant ... being the punk I was at the time - I didnt really appreciate it - but looking back it was pretty cool.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:Napa was a little more enjoyable back then. It was a bit more laid back than now. Still nice, but if I were still living close to it, I don't think I would go up there as much as I used to.

I haven't been in the busier season - I was there several times post harvest and she joined me in December - so things were a lot quieter I think than perhaps in peak season. We will likely get back there for a long weekend between June and November when we go back to WDW. We had planned on Hawaii, but it didnt pan out with the couple we were planning to go with and now we can't go without them - which I was perfectly ok with lol

You all been busy. I went with both DS to see "Mario Bros Movie". That is the most crowded I've seen a theater since COVID!!! But was adults, maybe one pre-teen kid. We try to go often (A-Listers) and was good to see people in the theaters. Cute movie, boys enjoyed it but they play the games. I didn't understand a whole lot but thought it was enjoyable.

Did you know if you stay at DLP resorts it INCLUDES the admission?? You don't need to buy tickets to go to the parks!! They are INCLUDED with your DLP stay (package up to 5 nights). We are planning ours and that's how I found out. It's amazing!
@Smugpugmug
I posted about DLP earlier....maybe page 41 or 42?! lol! We are planning ours and I was so shocked to find out park tickets/admissions are INCLUDED with your DLP stay!! It's amazing!!
Is this new or reserved for top tier hotels? DS#2 went and stayed in a Disney hotel and he had to put together a package of room, tickets and dining plan. They were not included. He was going last summer and same thing (ended up canceling).

I may have to jump into any DLP discussion. We are going in December, for sure, but I hadn't actually bothered to do early planning. So I just plugged in some dates, and wow! I'm excited about how NOT scary the price will be. I'm even considering adding on a breakfast+dinner dining plan (need to research).
DS got the dining package and was sorry he did. He said that he was very disappointed in the quality of the food, especially since he was in Paris. He really hoped it would be elevated. He said he doubts he would buy it again. I don't remember where he ate other the restaurant with Pirates because he was seated next to the water, someone walked up behind him and grabbed him ~ Jack Sparrow. He said atmosphere was good.

MK is the only park where I'll leave to eat and then come back. The food there isn't good. I do like the Tropical Serenade at Aloha Isle.
The one park I actual prefer packing my lunch. Finding a good people watching spot and enjoy not buying mediocre overpriced food.

My screening of the Super Mario Bros movie was packed too. Almost every seat was taken. Very rowdy theater too (no cursing or fighting but LOTS of cheering and laughing). I'll probably watch it again when I'm able to at home since I feel like I missed some jokes due to people being so loud lol

The only time I brought my own food (as in a meal) to a park was when my sister and I went to Islands of Adventure for the afternoon/evening. If you think MK food is bad, don't get me started on the non Wizarding World quick service places.

Oh we do Universal too. My issue there is the lines and even mobile order can take 30 minutes in a line to pick it up. I suppose at that point I'd eat a leather shoe. I didn't know you could take any food into Universal.

Yeah, Disneyland Paris has never been food focused although they have improved in recent years. Mainly where quick service is concerned.

With so many amazing places to dine in Paris and the area, they just decided not to compete. Besides good table service in France can take a few hours. Doesn't work in a themepark (although 1.5-2hours is not uncommon in DLP)

I'm a regular at DLP and we never get a rate that includes breakfast, let alone a full meal plan. It is rarily worth it.

Pro tip, change the country settings on the website. Usually the US website has the most expensive price, because they know Americans are used to paying more per night for hotels. Book a package from one of the European websites if you are looking for ways to save money. (More tips available on the DLP board 😉 )
