It’s a good thing I’m married as I bring my own GF soy sauce when we get sushi. I’d hate to have to try dating having my list of food issues.
Oh if it's a food issue then that's fine and different from the Reddit post. The OP only eats ranch and refused to eat any of the sauces at the restaurant (it was a Polish restaurant). She left in the middle of the date to go buy ranch and then argued with the staff about bringing in outside food. I wouldn't be embarrassed about the ranch but rather the entire spectacle that happened.

I picture you upside down with your iPad responding to this thread. Still typing faster than the rest of us! I am cracking up here. I've had/having my coffee so I'm already a little jittery. :D
lol that would be quite the sight wouldn't it!

You can thank school for typing fast. All those typing tests with a sheet over the keyboard so you couldn't see in elementary school, there was even a typing class we had to do in high school I remember. Do they even teach this kind of stuff anymore in school?? Everything is on tablets it seems these days.

Well....not to pat myself on the back or toot my own horn....BUT I WAS my county's typing champ (when we used typewriters still) in the 9th grade. My school's FBLA club paid for me to go on a week long WDW "field" trip. A bunch of 8th and 9th graders. I still remember that there were hardly any chaperones and they dropped us off at MK at rope drop and just said meet us back at midnight.

And we stayed in a totally sketchy I-drive motel.

Good times.

That's a trip report I want to see.

Let's just ay that was in 1989 and I STILL will never tell my mother the details. She only let me go because my best friend, Scott (good ol' Scott), was going and she knew it would be fine. My mother, love her so much, was oblivious my entire childhood/teen years.

And if you think that trip report would be good - that same year my French class took a trip to Montreal/Quebec for a week. On a bus from NC. THAT was really a fun time.

I'm just now realizing what a great 9th grade I had! :D

Ok, I can keep this going down another rabbit hole!!

I just got done talking with my college buddies, and we’re arranging a meetup for our 50th birthdays, either late next year, or early 2025.

I am trying to decide when a good time would be - they’ll be coming from the UK. I am local to WDW.

October - usually still warm, most hurricanes and storms have passed
Early Nov - TG and not Christmas (3 of them have birthdays in Oct and Nov).
Jan - Feb. Some quieter days in the parks, but last couple of years has been cold and I be avoiding MLK and Presidents Day
March-April - weather picks up, The pool is swimmable. Would need to avoid spring break.

What says y’all?

I would pick October or late March (as in last week of March. Early April, as you can see from the wait times, is insane). January and February this year was quite cold on some days! Plus the cheerleading groups and some Brazillian tour groups are out in full force during those two months. Early November is during the period of time commonly refered to as "Jersey week" where the entire state of New Jersey packs up and drives down to WDW. I'm from NJ and went during this week as a kid. I would see my classmates and teachers in the parks. My mom even saw her boss and her family LOL

Ahh yeah and that kind of freedom would not exist today!

Second week in November should miss all the U.K. school holidays and allow them to get cheaper flights.

October/November or late March it is!! Thank you!!

Yeah it was cold here this year. I love that I get to wear some of my Mickey sweaters, but after a week of that, I’m ready for some warmth.

Forgot to mention in my previous post but avoid Columbus day weekend in October. That weekend is nuts! Halloween day seems to just be "normal crowded". I don't notice any spikes in wait times. Same with late March. Wait times looked to be normal but not 1 hour wait for Nemo and Figment level.

Well now it's in the 90s and I'm dying lol Yesterday was sooooo hot.

DH and I both agree on this after we sailed the Wish - As much as we love Disney, the value in DCL is far less than reg cruise lines. Not saying we won't ever sail DCL again, but they won't be our priority over the other premium cruise lines.

My DISer friends love DCL, a few go a lot but they go even more because now they live in FL. I won't cross DCL off the list entirely (a group trip would be fun and just speaking about the future) but admit my husband and I think about the value ratio for the money. If going with friends sure that is different but still. I still pay attention to DCL stuff though from an interest level and a gathering of info level.
For a couple years the plan was to take DS#1 (disabled Disney fanatic) on a Disney Cruise for his 40th. We wanted 4 days out of Canaveral so that pointed us to the WISH. We priced it out based on some current/past rates and while much more expense than our other cruises we were willing to take the hit for something special. WELL when the cruise rates dropped we were totally shocked. 6 + infant, two cabins just cruise (no tips, drinks, spending, parking etc) was almost $14,500 for FOUR days. By time we added all the other expenses it would have been $17,000.

I priced an RCI cruise, 4 days, same dates, same stops (different cruise islands) and it was 1/4 that cost. Like we could do 4 RCI cruises for the same price. We love Disney and find value in many things it offers but there is nothing they could possible due for us to justify that. Maybe some day when we can pick up and go on a last minute for a deal, but for now DCL is off our radar.

October stays pretty busy now with all the offerings but it is doable. I've been doing October but now bounced back to mid-Sept again.

Early November is good, check when Jersey Week is and avoid that but otherwise I think it's a great time crowd and weather wise. I've done the first week of November the last two years and had great trips.

I will give them a range of dates and see what’s works.

Yes!!! OMG. Though I’ve been most nights since Sunday and even though it’s been high 80s, it’s felt in the 70s.

I am blessed to be in the park 3-4 times on a good week, and at least a couple of times other weeks. I can tell the ebb and flow and see when it’s a really busy Friday at Epcot (F&W, FotA, or Garden festival is on). Or a crazy day in AK when the LL for Safari is back to the bar. But I go do something else when it’s like that. I’m not paying attention to the spikes or not hanging around. So this is very useful!!!!
