I have friends that absolutely have to have 2 adjoining rooms for their stay 3rd week of October. Disney properties "can't guarantee" they will get rooms that adjoin. Does anyone have any experience with this. They need to book soon, so please post!! Other things to note. They are arriving on a Wednesday before noon for a 5 night stay. Should they just find a suite?

I know that Disney won't guarantee connecting or adjoining rooms, but they will do their best. Last year we reserved connecting rooms and our confirmation stated they were guaranteed for families with small children.

Make sure they specify connecting rooms, not adjoining rooms, otherwise they'll just get rooms next to each other. Tell them to specify it when reserving, then back it up with a fax to the room assigner 2-3 days before they get there, explaining just how necessary the request is.

Hope this helps

Make sure they know the difference between connecting (door between rooms) and adjoining (just next to each other). Disney will only guarantee connecting rooms if there are three minor children and the room will only sleep four. We have requested connecting rooms for our family of five/six several times and it has always stated "guaranteed" on our confirmation. I too always follow up with a fax several days before we arrive.

If there is a medical reason or extenuating (sp?) circumstances you can see if they will help you.

You can get guaranteed connecting rooms if you have 1 adult in each room on your reservation. They have a special code, but they don't advertise it. Make sure it doesn't say adjoining rooms. If they won't guarantee connecting, you can contact the hotel directly, 3-5 days before check in. Ask to speak with the room assignment cast member. If you call 1st thing, they usually can assign a building number and guarantee the connecting rooms. Good luck - with all the changes regarding room reservations these days, who knows!

If you want two rooms that have a door between them you MUST specify *connecting* rooms- not adjacent, adjoining, next to, or anything else. As I always suggest when booking, if there is something you need GUARENTEED call back until you have a confirmation in your hands that states "guarenteed x" for whatever it is. I personally had to call back 3 times for my Xmas reservation to have guarenteed non-smoking...its a bit of a pain but I can't live with the alternative.

In regards to calling the hotel, usually if you call they will definetely try to honor the request, but there are no guarentees with it- even if castmember A says "yup, I put you in connecting rooms" castmember B could change that due to demand or current guest requests, etc. Obviously Disney will always try to honor your requests as much as possible, but if its a non-negotiable item (as non-smoking is for me) get it guarenteed....be polite, explain why it must be that way, and the CMs will work with you on it whenever possible....and make sure when you get your confirmation it states GUARENTEED on it so you save yourself some frustration.

Hope this helps!
