Marathon Weekend 2026

SAFD: My oldest race shirt is from my first rD race - the 2009 WDW Half. For everyone who hates the recent shirts I will take them over the 2009 one any day - the fabric is horrible for snagging. It really did not age well at all. I now break it out only a couple of times a year. I also have an Ottawa 10k shirt from that same year (but 4 months later) that I wear frequently and is in MUCH better shape.

As for what I do with my rD shirts - I wear them a lot for winter training - quite often in layers. My issue is I have way too many long sleeve running shirts and too few short sleeve shirts so I may convert 4 or 5 of them to short sleeves to get more use out of them in the summer. For now they sit in a plastic bin (soon to be 2).
The 2009 Half was my first rD race, also. White moisture wicking shirt with Donald on the front. I cut the sleeves off and still haven't bothered hemming the shortened sleeves (unlike my other shirts). It has held up very well considering that I do wear it fairly often.
And, yes, it does snag easily.

Good afternoon RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to this week's edition of Sundays are for Disney (SAFD). First off, a big thank you to @princesspirateandrunner for picking up my slack as I dropped the ball last week. On to this week, earlier in the year we discussed and voted on our favorite our favorite places to dine at Disney. This week, let's go a little more specific and a little sweeter. What are your favorite snacks at each Disney park? Of course, you're welcome to go savory if that's your preference, too!

SAFD:
A couple of parks are easy for me and a couple are tougher to pick a favorite from.

Magic Kingdom: I love cinnamon in general, so the mega cinnamon roll at Gaston's Tavern is an easy choice for me. Honorable mentions to the recently introduced candied bacon and the hamburger spring rolls.

Epcot: The gingerbread caramel buttercream cookie at Karamell Küche is another easy choice. The caramel popcorn from there is also a must-have.

Animal Kingdom: Nothing really stands out here for me, so I'll go with the candied cinnamon pecans.

Hollywood Studios: Another park where I don't snack much and nothing really stands out. I'll go with the frozen Coke here.

Every park: popcorn. I have so many popcorn buckets. :D

Epcot; the baguette from Les Halles. It is so, so good. I could (and have!) eaten a half baguette for dinner. I got a whole baguette and carried it around World Showcase during DATW this year. :D

I used to really like the ice cream sandwich on chocolate chip cookies that they sold at the Plaza ice cream, but I haven’t seen it on the menu in awhile and I’m not sure if it’s sold anywhere else. Obviously I haven’t looked in awhile. 🤣

As I recall, that baguette started DATW the same height as you, but was rapidly reduced as we moved around the world.

SAFD:
MK--cinnamon roll from Gaston's
HS-- is the carrot cake cookie sandwich still a thing?
Epcot--tie between the Brown Elephant in Africa (secret menu item!) and the gingerbread cookie sandwich already mentioned from Norway
AK--tie between a dolewhip rum float or those pineapple creamcheese puff things from Pandora (HM for the bread service as Nomad Lounge for savory)

I got a whole baguette and carried it around World Showcase during DATW this year. :D
This is legit how I identify you to DH when discussing MW and us running together. "Nanci is the lady that had the baguette at DATW" :rotfl2:

SAFD:

MK: Used to be the Peter Pan float at Storybook Treats, but I haven’t seen it in a while. I’m always down for a cinnamon roll and LeFou’s Brew at Gaston’s. The orange Fanta float at Sunshine Tree Terrace is also a favorite. The waffles that can be sandwiched (although not the proper Waffle Sandwiches) are back at Sleepy Hollow, so those might be worth a shout. I have a lot of favorite snacks at MK because I find the meals there to be mostly unsatisfactory.

Epcot: The whole case at Les Halles. Hummus Fries at Spice Road Table. Also love snacking around the world during the festivals.

Hollywood Studios: Triple Suns Breakfast wrap at Ronto Roasters (although that definitely qualifies as a meal for me), Twist soft-serve waffle cone at Epic Eats.

AK: Twist soft-serve waffle cone from Anandapur Ice Cream Truck, Night Blossom from Pongu Pongu.

SAFD:
MK: cinnamon roll from Gaston's if I remember to go back there before they close; if I don't make it there, then a chocolate shake from Auntie Gravity's--it's ridiculously chocolatey, and it just hits the spot when it's hot.
Epcot: Cookies & Cream funnel cake
AK: If I'm there long enough to have a meal and a snack, I usually opt for a Mickey Bar
HS: I'm all over the place at HS--popcorn, pretzel, funnel cake. If they still had it, my snack choice every time would be the french toast pretzel from Market that I had in January 2020.

SAFD: We tend to eat meals more than snacks, except at MNSSHP, when we plan for our top three snacks each, and share.

MK-Dole Whip, without question
Epcot—DH enjoys the pretzels in Germany
AK—
HS—

Okay, it turns out that we don’t snack so much on sweet things while at Disney. We’ve had the Pongo Pongo pineapple cream cheese thingies, and enjoyed them, but maybe only once. We’ve had pastries from France in Epcot, but I don’t remember the specifics. We’ve had ice cream from the Plaza, which is excellent, but doesn’t top Dole Whip. I think this is an excellent question to inspire us on future trips. Thanks, @camaker and we’re glad you’re back!

And I’ll do it again next year! :)

Truly, the highest honor.

This reminded me - the pretzel from Baseline Taphouse. It’s soooooo much better than the regular Mickey pretzels.

SAFD: I need to get my snack game up. The only thing I’ve consistently ordered is a Mickey Pretzel 🥨. That’s about it. 😔. I’ve never even had a Dole Whip.

However when we were there in January I signed us up for the DDP. One day I decided to use a bunch of credits at Karamell-Küche. That place was amazing! I am thinking about trying the QSR DDP for one of our splits stay legs next month and will definitely head back there again. And try some other things listed here.

SAFD: I feel like finding snacks is harder than finding small meals for me because I hate asking for an allergy binder at a location and tend to just stick to using the app, but I'll add mine:

MK: Mickey Bar because I haven't found any gluten free snacks here EDIT: forgot about Dole Whip even after reading everyone's responses. Leaving Mickey bar here but adding Orange Cream Dole Whip
AK: Churros from Nomad Lounge
HS: Gluten free brownie sundae that is not on the menu at Scoops but I learned about via facebook haha
Epcot: Exit at IG, walk to beach club, grab gluten free plant based brownie at QS, walk back to Epcot (that's not cheating right?)
