Addonitis - When did you first add-on

We bought 210 points at BWV sight unseen in July 2000. 3 months later we added 100 at VWL again sight unseen. We made our first trip in 2001 as owners! Our friends told us that we would love DVC, and we bought on their word. We just added another 50 at SSR in December 2006. Can you really have too many points?? Ha ha

We were very similar- bought 150 BWV sight unseen in early 2006 after seeing a resale contract listed on the Timeshare Store. Bought another 180 VWL in May, 2006, also sight unseen. Now we just bought another 200 points at AKV just about a year after our initial point purchase.

Sigh... I bought in June 2005 and then added on in Jan 2007 when we were on our first trip Home... the price was good and due to my use year, I got the 2006 add on points and 2007 points when use year happened. It wasn't a lot, only 60, but its nice to have the extra.

Visited VB, added on 50 pts resale.
Couldn't get reservation we wanted at 7 month window, talked DH into BCV add-on, 150 points resale.

I'm praying they DON'T announce DVC at DL any time soon b/c I'd just be DYING to add on again and I think DH would have a heart attack. I can just see it now...

"What? Don't you already have 440 points?"
"Yeah, but I NEED more!"
"Sustenance, shelter, love...those are needs. Everything else is a want."
"Doesn't DVC count as shelter?"

Yeah I feel the same way about the Poly... if they add it there, I might not be able to control myself.

We bought 300 pts at SSR pre-construction and added 100 pts before we closed. We have since sold the 100 pt add on in favor of some BCV pts. So now we have a 300 pt master at SSR and 180 pts at BCV. It sure looks like most people tend to add on within the first year!

I am AMAZED at how many people have added on. Less than 15% have not added on in this poll. Did the non-adders like myself just not reply to the poll? Or is this an indication of how over-the-top fanatic the DISboards DVCers are? Does anyone have any info on what percent of all owners add on within a certain number of years?

We have 150 pts and no plans to add on! It was a special purchase (paid off in one year) and we've got to direct our funds elsewhere now.

I purchased the original 150 point contract at OKW in 1997 then heard they were selling out of my use year less than a year later so I just had to add on a 100 point contract in 1998. I stayed "addonitis-free" until VWL began selling in 2001 then I bought 3 contracts--not quite 3 years from the previous addon. I held out until longer this time until AKV came up. Then addonitis hit me again for 2 more contracts 6 years later! I figure I am going to hold steady now. I double the years in between so that should mean at least 12 years before I get addonitis right?

We made our first add-on within the first few days (SSR from 160 to 200).
Then we added 50 to BCV last month. We are now looking to add some at BWV for F&W 11 month advantage and VWL to book during the holidays.
Way off in my wildest dreams would be some at AKV because of the 5 person 1BR. I guess you could say we want it all!! But my bank account doesn't!!

My guess is the title doesn't hook the non adder to opening the thread as much as the ones who have added on. It sounds like it is only talking to the ones who have. My bad.
